I've think I've maxed out on my 5800x tweaking curve optimiser -30 on all cores. Single core boost 5.025Ghz, all core 4.8Ghz boost. Not sure how to go about pushing it higher, it's not a thermal limit. Hit 72c max stressing all cores. Anyone got any idea how to push further? Clearly I've hit some form of limit, just not sure what. Can't post any stats until the morning when I'm at the Pc. Although my thermal limit is on auto, I assume that sets it at default 95c or 90c until throttling occurs. All cores seem to be able to boost to the same single core boost, I assumed I'd have more of a difference between the core than I have. Them being equal is pretty bizarre!

Auto Thermal limit should be 90c on the 5800X.

I don't know how you set this up but -30 curve optimiser is high, i can't go higher than -17 without random crashing, sometimes it could be 2 hours sitting idle, sometimes a day of so and boom: auto reset, so it might not be stable, but if it is, great.
Don't know about Single core boost and Multicore boost, haven't looked that far into it, I set +200Mhz offset, i'm guessing that's globally, with it in lighter loads like Gaming the CPU boosts up to 5.05Ghz all core, heavy loads about 4.8Ghz depending on temperatures.

I mean, it looks like you have a good thing going there, and there are limits to how far you can overclock.

Both myself and at least one other 5800x user on here have noticed max boost of 5025MHz, despite BIOS and HWInfo64 reporting 5050 as maximum. (+200 PBO)
Seems to be Agesa 1.2.0.0 causing it, as previous version clocked higher.

It's a Bios issue, there's nothing wrong with your chip or cooling.

Temperature is always an issue. The transistors in a CPU keep getting faster as you cool them, even below room teperature.
Surely temperature is only an issue when it’s an issue. My cpu never goes above 50 but I can’t push it any further without crashing. Same as the 4670k it replaces.

Probably just the limits of the silicon, my old 3600 would only boost to 4.2 on 2 cores no matter what the temps.

^^^^ my 3600 wouldn't go past 4.1Ghz all core no matter what i did to it.
