*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

I'm a patient person who would advocate for deferred gratification. But this is testing my limits to breaking point.

Cheers though man I will try to gee up some positivity and stay calm. Just completely deflating to hit the skids after waiting so long and finally thinking the ordeal might be over.

I had intended to reply yesterday afernoon but ended up much busier than expected.

You must be reading different posts to me if you think that's what the response is. The frusatration seems to be stemming directly from the fact that the message from OC is that DPD are to blame for delays for Irish customers when DPD are not responsible for delivering the cards to Ireland. That is OC's responsibility and I think there is a stark contrast between what you wrote and later claimed is "essentialy what has been said" by OC and what actually has been said in this thread. To your point elsewhere that being annoyed will not do any good, you're not wrong but try that arguement on your partner next time they are upset and see how it goes.

There have been a wide range of responses, and the number demanding the impossible is higher than it needs to be.

For the DPD issue, as I understand it (from feedback received at least) the issue is DPD gave criteria for Irish delivery processes to OCUK. OCUK (and other businesses, I imagine) had to go like hell to meet the criteria for these, because there were about 3 days between a brexit deal being agreed, and needing to be implemented. However, once this was done (or during, I have no idea), the goalposts have been changed and the process started again. It may be OCUK's responsibility to deliver the products purchased, and they have chosen a courier to do it who on this occasion, appear to have let them down massively. They're in a position where they can't get in what they need, and can't get out what they have, and in both instances it's due to factors outside of their control.

I don't think there is a stark contrast. I said "Oh sorry, actually we've been re-keying every item we stock and sell due to a number of forces outside our control for a bit of a giggle, we'll get them all out in a bit." Sure, I was being a bit flippant as previously noted, but apart from the giggle, that IS essentially what is happening. ScottiB explained that they need to rewrite a hell of a lot of information in order to be able to sell. He's gone in detail a few times about what needs to happen, but it pretty much boils down to far too much to do in too little time, with uncertain criteria to meet. Can't be too many businesses where once you finish, you decided to go onto a public forum on your own time where people are slating your work, you try to explain things and get some pretty unreasonable replies. Not all, granted, but there have been a number of feet stampers.

As for pointing out to my partner when she's annoyed? She's a rational person, and I love her greatly for it. If she's annoyed, it's probably because I did something that was a) Within my control, and B) Pretty stupid/thoughtless, therefore she has recourse to seek an apology.

Trust me, that happens.

Checking on Twitter, Seems that a good number of gamers where able to purchase the RTX 3080 FE, yesterday.

Also, Seems that Nvidia are dropping stock more regular now.

Figures crossed this is the case as these current reseller prices are insane.

still getting deliveries & still no official discontinue notice.

Hi so I was going to ask for an update on the DPD delivery issue for Irish customers. Having read a few pages back, it sounds like OCUK have to rewrite their code to process these orders. I'm guessing this is going to take some time which is expected. Can I contact CS and request a queue position update? It has been 3 months since any official communication so just curious.

I'd assume that if your order is on hold then so is your postition in the queue which would explain why you're not getting any updates. I'd expect that when your order is no longer on hold you may then get a queue update or receive shipping notification.

Nope, OCUK has said in the email we got when this crap happened that we would move along in our queue as if nothing has changed but if our card does arrive that it will be kept aside for us when this whole situation is sorted.
