*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Just had a VERY HELPFUL message from Inno3D after contacting their EU team direct, VERY HELPFUL!! They state they won't give information about shipments to the "dealer channel" and I have to contact Overclockers.

I can't thank them enough for being so helpful, because it is so understandable that overclockers would know better than them about the shipping situation and stock levels, of course because it is overclockers that build the card and Inno3D who distribute it, RIGHT?

Oh , they are forever angels in my heart!! Ding dong verily on high

Well unless you are a dealer why would you expect them to divulge any dealer information to you? That is a bit naive of you unless you posted 'tongue in cheek'.

I'm waiting on a strix oc and im 354th, the thing is, sure i could cancel and get my money back but then nowhere else has stock and if they do it's gonna be 300 quid extra, and I'm still stuck trying to make do with a 1080 on 4k. I'm happy to keep waiting because i've been waiting since Oct 2nd i guess i'm lucky I still have access to a functioning pc rather than waiting for the final piece.

Thats exactly the position im in but about 520ish in the queue. I could cancel but where am I going to buy another card from? and last time I checked OCUK put the price of a Strix OC up to £1100 (they have redacted that price from thier advert now). Even if I found somewhere selling the same card I would be wasting £100s. Im stuck with this purchase until its been finalised which will be around October at this rate!!!!

EDIT: Good job I have a 1080ti and can still game

This is very frustrating, I've had one on order since Day 1, still, around 200 in Que, if the orders cancelled, we will all be on backorder again for the more expensive 3080 Ti, give it another 6 months on being on that waiting list, and we will be facing another cancellation as Skews get cancelled for newer models.

Its a circus, I don't blame Overclockers, btw, as they have lost out in all this mess as well.

The main UK supplier still has back orders to fulfill.
One and only one UK reseller is recieving stock from EVGA. It happens to be the one UK reseller who uses EVGA almost exclusively as their graphic card brand for system business.
Not even EVGA's official UK distributor is receiving stock, EVGA are instead shipping direct.
Fair? No
Legal? Grey area

checking back in on this thread after a few months, not surprised the situation is worse. Wondering if OC's policy of taking funds immediately is at the root of some of the problems. With the prices officially having gone up and thousands of folks hanging on for cards that are now £100-£300 more expensive. Wouldn't put it past the board partners screwing over consumers and etailers alike. Pretty sure OC can't eat the price hike for all those cards and pretty sure the manufacturers therefore have to honour cards ordered and paid for at the cheaper prices. If OC did what other companies do and only debit funds as the cards shipped how many folks would have kept trying elsewhere end up paying more then cancelling the OC order.

I've been watching this forum for a while and things have been pretty dismal. Above most however, us Ventus 3080 buyers definitely have it rough. I understand things have been hard for the market, but this month things have gone from really bad to unacceptable. I went down the line 2 places this month. At this rate, I won't have my card for a *decade*.

I've gone and graphed my position over time, have a look.

If things don't get better in the next couple weeks, I'm no longer willing to let my money sit in other pockets for no benefit. I'm curious to see what others think of the graph I've shared above.

I am waiting on a 3080 Palit Gaming Pro OC - now 2nd in the queue, so I am keeping the faith. Was 22nd 3 weeks ago, so there is some movement (not just cancellations). Fingers crossed for April/May

I think anyone that didn’t order in September should cancel really. @Gibbo @ScottiB one of the cards with no queue is the 3080 vision? I know you’re “stockpiling” (for lack of a lesser word) stock of cards with no queue, would a paid upgrade to vision from eagle be possible?

More like anybody who didn't order on launch day within the first hour ( I'm still waiting )

yeah it shouldn't be long for you, this model does pop up fairly regularly in PartAlert etc so their is stock coming into the country.

I can't help thinking that Nvidia have essentially lied by saying "It's not a supply problem, it's a demand problem".
If it was a demand problem that caught them out, they would have said "Oh Dear, we got caught out a bit there", ramp up the supply and the dollars / pounds / Euros would come rolling in.
Why would you not do that? Instead six months after launch there's still hardly any stock available.

The only reasons would be that your yields on the Samsung 8nm process were horrible, there was a GDDR6 shortage, and nothing could be done to make it better.
Adding TSMC supply will help, but how quickly?
Trying to dress it up as a "demand" problem is ridiculous.

Core problem right there...fab slots are all booked up.
TSMC had some spare slots which they auctioned off starting 25% higher pricing than usual.

TSMC cater for a lot more companies than Nvidia and many are much larger. They produce for car manufacturers for example and there's a LOT more money in that industry.

If capacity comes down to a pure bidding war, Nvidia are too small & too cheap to win it.

This is just my opinion and not based on any fact. But I wouldn’t be surprised if Nvidia are prioritising building and stock piling 3080Ti cards for a release this year... even in the coming months if the “rumours” are to be believed.

TSMC are struggling at the moment with water shortages in Taiwan so are at sub optimal production rates and power outages in the US where in some cases production is ceased and not likely to start until well into April. Although this will not directly affect the Ampare chipset, it is safe to say that ancillary chips like voltage regulators, FETS and other smaller silicon devices will be affected. These are world problems. At least, unlike the Taiwanese, you can turn your tap on and get water. (addressed to the forum in general, not you @ScottiB).

Strange times when the 17th largest company in the entire world by market cap is "too small"
It is probably not the size of the company but the volume of orders. Gamers are way down the list when you are talking about automotive supply, who also need NV chips. It is frustrating, but I would rather wait than see thousands of auto workers out of a job on line stops so I can play Cyberpunk at more than 40fps. Tough times.

This has very little to do with Nvidia. yeah, there are some cars with Nvidia technology but we're talking about ASICs. There could be hundreds of them in each modern car controlling everything from fuel injection to the clock on the dashboard. TSMC makes a lot more than just CPU & GPU.

Crazy I was sitting in a long queue with no end, then I got lucky and ordered a 6800xt OC yesterday and have it in hand today.
Hope things improve for you guys best of luck.
