AMD 6500XT / 6600XT / 6700XT

I had a look at the latest leaked benchmarks just now @humbug , the 6700XT is an awful lot quicker than what the earlier leaks suggested it was, especially in the Division 2, especially when comparing it backwards to the 5700XT and next to the 3070.

On that basis I am a lot more excited about the card than i was a week or two ago.

AMD have basically doubled the price of their GPUs, not many people are complaining. The *70 cards should be ~£200.

I remember the **** show of the RX480 release RRP nonsense. Technically they did have a few cards at RRP and it's getting worse!

I want to replace my RX570 but nearly £500 for a bottom rung performance card is a joke. Here's hoping there's a crypto crash and I get to buy a lightly used 6700 some time next year :p

Yep, this card (stock situation to be seen on the day) would have been the perfect storm for AMD if priced right, ultra details at 1080p across most games, strong 1440 performance, decent power usage, not hot, feature rich and decently priced, £250-£300 would have made it the best seller of this current gen between AMD and Nvidia.

AMD are geniuses, everyone hated on them for narrow bandwidth memory but they were right, they done gamers a solid by screwing with miners

Well, miners mining ETH and similar as it was designed to be ASIC resistant by being memory bandwidth contained.
Which must be 90%+ of miners.
And presumably doing very little compute - pity nobody though to at least partially use the compute to do something useful like Folding Proteins for research rather than just powering the insatiable Proof of Work network.

So ill be trying to upgrade my vega56 to 6700xt....

what’s the chances of being able to actually buy one

Unlikely to say the least.. im wanting to go 4GB rx580 to 6800xt. @Gibbo are you able to confirm the official launch time for the cards? (i know OCUK are skipping it) also have you anything in place so actual gamers can get these ones?

I’m not greedy, just the one will do!

I can’t find information anywhere regarding ordering and also what can be done to ensure gamers get them. Sigh, I’ll just stick with the vega56 then I guess

Thought we might have heard some news by now on the expected stock levels by OC
Gibbo has already stated OCUk are skipping the official launch the same what they did with the 6800/6900 series, so that can only indicate 2 things

1. Stock - or lack of it so its pointless their website being over loaded and crashing due to bots/scalpers/gamers

or

2 There is stock but OCUK going to do batches here to help gamers get them and not scalpers

Edit

Launch Time
The product launch will take place on March 18th at 14:00 GMT (6 AM Pacific Time).

I missed the update from Gibbo. Thanks for the info. :)

I'm wondering what price I should aim for as in, what max will I pay for one of these.

Like the newly released 3060 selling for over 500pounds (won't pay that).

So what board partners might sell this for 500 525? (in normal times). Buy it if its below 600 maybe? If not wait for santa at Christmas for prices to come down?

Anyone have idea on board partner prices.
These will be non-existent at least £500. Probably £600+.
