Love the influx of new members whining.

I’ve had mixed service from OCUK over the years...this trial was a good thing though.

Wait, so the order I placed yesterday had been cancelled because the stock wasn't on the website? I mean there were about 30 lines that were there for a good 10 minutes while I refreshed a billion times to even log in and then again to checkout.

I get that is wasn't meant to be online, but it's ******** to say it wasn't there. I check all retailers hourly by the off chance, no bots or alerts.

Haven't read up on this voucher scheme, but we'll see if it actually works.

Well I guess I'm just a small time user but it's a bit of a kick in the teeth not being able to order a GPU from ocuk now. having spent a few thousand over the years(not to mention over £500 just two week ago) I guess I have to look else where now. Oh well, it is what it is I guess.

Hi, sorry if this has been asked before but there are a lot of posts here, pretend I'm an idiot (ok maybe you eo t have to pretend too hard lol) exactly how does this work?

The graphics card gets posted in MM section? Then what, that forum post has a voucher code that so when go to OCUK website you can enter that voucher code to change to price for £10k to normal price?

Yes

I may have to go back to using my previous account lol least it will show I've been on here for years it'll be great for the active forum users, shame not for those who have large spends with the company but oh well

Good to see OCUK attempting to do something about the situation. I'm not in the market for a card right now, but my eldest will need his first PC in the next year or two, and there's no way i can afford to spend a grand on a card alone.

OK
Apologies up front if, by some fluke, any genuine customers got caught up in this but there shouldn't have been any cards (above 2060) for sale this evening. We had an issue with a hidden stock feed for about half an hour which a load of auto-buy bots...and possibly stock watch bots managed to latch onto.

We received about a thousand orders in a matter of minutes which managed to bypass the lack of a buy button.

Every single one has been identified, frozen and is in the process of being cancelled.

There's absolutely no way to find out if there are any genuine customers involved, there shouldn't be unless there was a second but involved.. but none of the cards should have been orderable so all orders are being cancelled.

There were even a few that made it through the warehouse buy we've grabbed those too so no scalpers are getting their cards tonight!

No customer who ordered a product that is supposed to be on sale should be affected.

Obviously the surge in traffic is causing some slow down, sorry

oh so thats why my order has been cancelled

great... my current GPU is breaking down i thought i got a replacement but no, as someone who has bought most of my computer hardware from here i'm a bit annoyed i don't get access to those codes just because i never created a forum account

additionally there was no lack of buy button when I looked at the page it was there plain as day, there was the out of stock/coming soon message as well and the price was obscured by that so to see the price i had to select it and then copy and paste - this was on chrome Version 89.0.4389.90 the only addon i have that messes with webpages is Ublock origin (but I appear to have it turned off on overclockers)

It's great that they're being somewhat proactive and thinking of different solutions, but the current limit of >1000 posts is quite a high number, wonder just how many people with accounts say over 10 years old that are nowhere near meeting that

As someone whose account is 10 years old and has just hit 100 (now 101!) posts, i'm inclined to agree. Any chance MM access could be based on a different metric than posts guys? Might save on spamming for one thing.

Lol the salty whinging continues....
It's not salty whinging at all.

I think it's a good thing, just a shame that it possibly rules out the majority getting a card. I can live without as have alternative options, but not all do.

If OC are going to implement such an idea, there will obviously be a negative backlash from those it rules out, you should expect that in reality.

The issue at the moment it's a catch 22 for most stores. They either try to limit like OCUK do and annoy none active forum members (however this means less cards in mining rigs) or they open up like the competitors and the PartAlert Miners / scalpers blast the storefront and the community behind the store miss out to people out to make a quick buck. Yes it's "fairer" to open it up, but damn is it more annoying on the whole.

Even with the MM rule there's still a miner on there who got cards because they're active here.

You would be unlikely to get a card antsy

The majority it rules out would rarely got a card anyway. And we've already seen people complaining here who are obviously after more mining cards, so genuine gamers miss out again.

I've gone from giving up on a new card to being able to buy one, as have hundreds of others.
