I was curious, does anyone know if the blockage in the Suez canal will impact graphics card supply to the UK? From what I can see most GFX cards ship from Asia which, I assume, will need to pass through the Suez.

Is there an indication if this has already had an affect?

Why can't they just strap graphics cards to the back of mules? I mean, they can swim can't they? So small thinking.

Its started to move.

Im surprised the other ships waiting to pass, didn't just go around the cape, as it would have only taken a few more days or so, the amount of time/less than the time they've been sitting there waiting.

A few more days lol.........................have you got any comprehension of the distance and cost involved. Let me tell you, 18 days at least assuming good weather at a minimum cost of £1.5m per ship.

That might become the case but it’s been 4 days since Tuesday and it’s an extra 9 days around the cape plus fuel.

Some of them are talking like up to 30 days extra and judging by some of the comments it is quite an increase in fuel cost as well.

Though I thought quite a bit of GPU shipping had resorted to air freight lately (partly why costs have gone up).

Some have already diverted, depends on the total journey I guess. I dont think a blocked ship is an excuse really, gfx is not an expensive load and if they have supply they can send airmail or whatever means. Oil and heavy commodities are slow transport only in this way so are affected but last I read nobody cares and oil is not especially altered in price as contracts dont expire for months.

Bigger point to follow is dollar or dxy, see that progress. Obviously watch Sterling strength, mostly to dollar but allow euro yen etc. These alter prices, my own estimation I think sterling as some recovery year to year presuming they manage to establish trade in normal ways, most speculation was negative hence something of a reversal. Similar Dollar rises after falling in the last year and that alters prices, knock on effects if crypto comes down etc.

Some people probably made better calculations than armchair commentators:)

There arn't any GPU's to go on ships.

I'd also be shocked if they weren't being moved by air mail, GPU's may aswell be crafted from a solid block of Gold at the moment.3

Theirs been almost nothing in stock now for a while, I'm signed up to several sites for weeks so wouldn't expect the cargo ship to make things worse at this point better to wait for the 3080ti or 3070ti.
