This is what a scalper looks like..

I never really looked at a gpu holding value for me its run one until it doesnt do what you want and get a new one

and hope you can scrape something back

sold it local to somone who needs gpu for his son or so he said

at least I will be able to sleep at night if I stick to that Idea

for less than I had been offered by the miners

I don't see your point.

I've been unable to buy a cheap graphics card so I subscribed to a streaming service instead. I'm happy and my mental health isn't affected.

Scalpers haven't ripped me off in any way. A scalper didn't hold a gun to my head and force me to buy one.

I'm a man and I'm in charge of my own decisions. I chose not to buy a scalped graphics card.

However, some people are CHOOSING to be ripped off by scalpers. That's 100% their own fault. The scalpers are just using their business acumen to take advantage of gullible people who obviously have plenty of cash anyway. I don't see a problem with that. People vote with their wallets and scalpers are winning those votes because people choose to buy them.

and if you couldn’t watch tv? It broke and you could only buy a scalped device?

Terrible example. The people buying from scalpers aren't buying because they have no GPU. The old one isn't broken.

A better example would be that you can't get a new OLED because they're being sold for twice the price, and your only choice is to stick with the 55" 4k TV that you've had for 3 years.

Yea, I think it's safe to say that most people would stick with the TV they have.

While Stock is limited If they cant fix scalpers I'd prefer the manufacturers to up their prices. At least that way the extra profit would go back to the company for additional R&D and increased manufacturing capacity.

I’m impressed by your in-depth knowledge of the scalpers’ customer base.

He has a point though. The number of sob stories I have heard around the PS5 is unreal. First of all other gaming consoles exist. Stock will eventually be available. It's not as if you are going to die from starvation by not having one so it's not comparable to essential items being discussed like food and water. Retailers have to sell them for RRP too and if you join a few twitter accounts and their discords you will get one if you leave them on nearby without the use of a bot.

GPU is different because even retailers are charging double or triple the price they should be and that is simply because supply is non existent. Its the reason why someone on here paid £900 for a 1070ti. For example the cost of PS4 hasn't risen. Neither has the cost of a nintendo switch and neither has the cost of the PS5 at retail.

The guy using bots to buy trainers, gpu's and consoles making more than £10K a month but he doesn't really know suggests he isn't paying any tax. Well someone should be shopping him to HMRC. Someone selling a console or two here and there fair enough but £10K profit and more per month is literally selling stuff at a wholesale rate and profiting at taxpayers expense. I bet he would soon see his money vanish if he was hit with the tax plus penalties and fines. Again people are to blame.

People lucky enough to get this gen will be able to use them for a year and probably still scalp them for a nice bit of profit.

I paid £750 for my GPU. 6 months later people are buying them for over £1500! Utter madness.

Most of them probably sold their GPU expecting to be able to pick one up at launch. No general PC gamer had any idea things would be like this.

The people in that boat knew the risks. And if they have always done it that way they reaped the benefits of selling whilst their cards were worth more before the drop. This time everything went up so they lost out.

You win some and you lose some.

3 pages in and all the attacks are aimed at the girl, the guy just seems to be ignored. Why is that not a surprise on this forum. The usual subjects showing their misogynistic views to us all once again.

As for what they do, meh, I'd never do it but people buying things and selling them on for a profit is pretty much how our system works. It is supply and demand. I wouldn't have a problem with these bots being made illegal for items like this though.

Not sure how you missed it but people are talking about the girl because she has a freakishly long neck, the guy gets ignored because there isn't a photo of him. It's like if you're walking down the street and see an 8ft tall woman, people will be drawn to it, nothing to do with misogyny.
