£2489 for a MSI 3090

What a world we live in when shops are scalping too

Why sell for less, when a large portion of the people you sell to are just going to put it on ebay themselves?

EDIT- Of course, OCUK have been selling for much less to us guys (admittedly, not the 3090).

Simple answer. Don't buy it. If nobody buys them then all the scalpers have are a pile of expensive paper weights. It won't take long for word to get around.

Sadly, there is more than one target market though, and the other market could and probably would pay it.

"You mean you were gun running in the middle of a civil war?" "Best time to do it Rodney, supply and demand!"

I had their top of the line Suprim 3090 model in my basket on a competitor site a couple of months ago at £1,700. Wish I had got it now and not bottled out.

Plus you need to remember as volume of sales goes down, the markup must go up to cover fixed costs. i have just seen the 6800XT sell out at the £900-£1k price point, we live in crazy times...

Lol, anyone paying these prices needs committed.

Sickened me to see those types of prices even from retailers! I wouldn't be surprised if both were snapped up by the same buyer, no doubt end up on a marketplace soon.

People saying prices are rising yes they are but a certain shop has this card for sale last week for 1900
OCUK are the biggest scalpers out there, yet users state people are idiots for paying Ebay prices. They themselves spend vast amounts of dosh on this site, comical.

The fact that another online store had these cards and all the other top 3090 cards for under 2000 the past few weeks tell me the real story I need to know about OCUK

What amazes me is that there are people around who will apparently pay that much for a card that's only going to last them two years before they are going to want to replace it with a 4090.

The fact that OCUK was selling 6700xt cards for £450 and 3060 cards for £350 tells me what I need to know too :D.

Simple answer. Don't buy it.

Your answer immediately falls down as soon as one random Johnson decides that they need a 3090 nomatter the cost.

Scalpers are sort of like Covid, herd immunity works up until there is a small group of contrarians who don't care about fighting it off.
In the same way if the herd all resist price increases Capitalism comes into play to drives the price back down; unless there are a group of "anti-MSRPers" who don't care if they're overpaying.
