*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

I was number 28 in the MSI 3080 GamingXTrio queue. To say im frustrated is an understatment. 7 months on a waiting list for MSI to pull the rug from under everyones feet!

They know they can just rebrand and make a few more hundred pounds on each unit, disgusting. Not the first time MSI have been upto no good.

Any update on Gigabyte Aorus Xtremes? I'm 4th in the queue. Hoping it doesn't turn out the same as MSI

Yes we have one unit incoming, so you should drop to 3rd, I for your sake hope they keep producing and shipping them, which I think they shall as its a high-end card which they make more money on.

Landed on an EVGA FTW3 Ultra for £670!

...except it seems to have oversold. Or been an error. Already had the concellation email and the refund :( Too good to be true, to be fair.
Had mine cancelled to. They always seem to allow you to place the order and then it gets cancelled immediately, bloody annoying. Just had a rant with a customer service agent to let off some steam about it.

I will post what Scotti quoted:

Also the problem is any 3080 we now buy in, even if we get a low-end model, our cost vastly exceeds £749 inc. vat, now of course if we had stock to upgrade you too, even if it lost us money, we would still do that, within reason which is why a lot of 3080 Gaming X pre-orders were upgraded to the Suprim X model.

Problem is now the supply is even thinner and the prices have all increased by around at least £200 since launch and as the launch prices was supported from day one, means the actual price increase is more like £250ish, some are over £300 more expensive.

But that aside we simply don't have product to offer free or even paid for upgrades too and I refer to Scott's quoted post above.
And that is fine. Well... not fine, but not OCUK's fault. Guess this would definitely serve as a lesson for everyone involved. But putting an end on a product line in favour of a newer one that performs the same just to justify price increase, that was Shady business from MSI. No question on that.

Well Thank you for your clarifications. I will be waiting on my refund.

From that article:
The shortage of video cards and the excessively high prices for them are due to several factors at once. On the one hand, there is a global semiconductor shortage that has hit all chip-dependent industries. On the other hand, many high-end video cards are bought by miners when they hit the market.

I understand supply/demand, and the shortage of semiconductors has resulted in increased retail prices, though I'm certain that is 100% greed, because I'm confident that staff are not being paid more, oil prices have not gone up... so operating costs should not have increased inherently.

Miners buying cards are not a valid reason for retail prices to increase... again, 100% greed and screwing customers. FE cards still selling at original rrp... are Nvidia taking a loss or just making less profit than AIB partners? I think the AIB partners are milking for current market situation as hard as they can.

Hi there

I am afraid today I deliver bad news to all those who have pre-ordered and are waiting for an MSI 3080 Gaming X Trio:
https://www.archyde.com/msi-stops-p...hics-card-buyers-did-not-wait-for-pre-orders/

I have contacted MSI directly who have confirmed the part is indeed EOL.
The part will be replaced by a Gaming Z Trio, to which I asked MSI can you fulfil our back orders which are presently at 576 units to which the response was "sorry mate, I believe you know the answer" which means not a chance.

The situation is so dirty the MSI rep couldn't even give you a direct answer?

Did people from Ireland start getting their queue position emails? I got my VAT refunded from OCUK, I see that delivery method is DHL, but still did not get any queue updates since December.
If you just got swapped over this week then you might get a queue update later today, there was 2 weeks of no updates for anyone due to Easter and the guy who does the updates being off but we should all get one today

How did you get your VAT refunded? I'm in Ireland also. And yes I have been getting queue update emails regularly apart from a couple of weeks where the lads were on leave...
