Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [7th - 13th May 2021]

Trent is top of that pile of young talent tbh. Pundits just seem to cream of Foden because he is flavour of the month.

It was genuinely cringeworthy listening to them fawn over the smallest thing he did like they were watching peak Messi in full flow. I mean, they were biased AF in the CL games I have watched. Ignoring any chance the opposition had and acting like poor little underdogs City were dominating every game from first to last minute.

I like Foden but he plays in a billion pound team with next to no responsibilities.

It’s quite baffling the lack of respect Man City get on here from rival supporters, borderline embarrassing.
Foden has been massive for them this year, almost as big a player as KDB yet apparently he has zero responsibilities just because they’ve spent a lot :D
It’s like primary school talk in here sometimes, genuinely cringe worthy.

He's started 15 games in the league for City this season.

And how many times has he come on and made a significant impact in a game? He’s a massive game changer and still very young. It doesn’t take away his responsibilities, it’s just a ridiculous comment! Pep has rotated everyone bar his back line this year.

Of course they've rotated, they have a billion pound squad. Why would a team that has 400 mil sat on the bench get any kind of respect?

Well he does ok considering the majority of the signings he’s made are ‘duds’.

Mahrez, Bernardo Silva, Rodri etc etc.

(Not my words)

He gets plenty of respect, some of us just don't think he is the second coming of Jesus like the commentators make out. Hes easily one of the best young talents in english football but he is playing in a fantastic City side that suits him down to a tee at the moment. Its too early to say how good he will be.

Jack Grealish plays in a very average Villa side and elevated them from average to good almost single handedly. I don't think Foden can be said to have that impact at City. That being said, its hard to improve City when they have so many world class players ready to step in if anyone is injured or needs resting.

So Rodri was worth the 70 mil they played for him then?

Well the same was said for Fernandinho when he signed when he was 29 for 30/40m. Rodri is 23 so yes if he plays until 35 he will be well worth it for the Busquets role he does.

what do you think the going rate now if you pay for a young player from these ‘super clubs’?!

That was a bad miss from Havertz and Leno should have come out when he had his first heavy touch.
