*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

@Gibbo and @ScottiB - Great to know the direction of what your thinking is to manage the situation; and appreciate it is just speculation until the information you need to make a final decision is available. I am really grateful for the support.

Emails tend to not go out on the friday preceding a bank holiday monday (UK). Why that is is beyond me but it is consistent behaviour. I'd say 'just wait until this Friday' and then it hit me that that is no longer relevant for you

With total sincerity, community managers and customer service reps are unsung heroes because they usually have to take the brunt of stuff that's A: routinely not their decision, either from higher-ups in the same company or further up the supply chain and / or B: just plain cruel. I don't trust anyone who gets abusive on the phone with customer service.
The queue position guy probably takes friday off like the rest of the country.

In other news, I'm curious to see what AIB's will do with the existence of LHR models. Time shall tell.

yeah he likes his long bank holiday weekends but he's off all this week too
Oh no, no updates this week then! however can't blame him, he certainly picked the right time, weather has been great. hopefully it will last. thanks for heads up, know not to expect one this week either..

With how little has been arriving you guys are not missing much anyway at present.

We don't have finalised costings yet.
MSRP's are announced but currently our landed cost are above the MSRP's even on the cheapest AIB cards, as such we are now having ongoing discussions with AIB's on what the plan is to make some cards potentially available at MSRP. Once we pass that hurdle we will then look at how much stock we can expect to get, numbers are pretty limited at present but as its mega early days we can't really predict on how good or bad supply will be in coming weeks. As such by the end of this month, or July we would hope to be in a position to have some options available like 3080 back orders can switch to a 3070Ti for no cost / small cost and anyone wishing to upgrade to a 3080Ti can do so but pay the difference which of course will be a minimum of £400 and more depending on the card in question.

But this is just me thinking in my head, the whole company is looking at possible solutions but until we have proper volumes in our warehouse there is nothing much we can do right now or this week or even next week it will take time to get the fuller picture on how supply will be and which way the prices will go as the AIB's just kept increasing 3080 prices almost weekly, we are hoping the 3080Ti will have more stable pricing and much better supply but lets see.

Those waiting have been extremely patient and we thank you for that, we also apologise for the wait too though its out of our control, but hopefully now for some a little more patience and hopefully results will come, OcUK has upgraded 100's if not 1000+ 3080 orders now to different models and have kept shipping 3080 back orders at huge losses. :)

Thanks for going into detail on this. With being an order within the first 90 minutes of launch myself, it would certainly mean a lot to be able to have those upgrade options available.

I knew I could count on you guys to guide us through this "storm" which is why I was more than happy to hang in and wait all this time. I'm sure whatever your decision will be on this matter moving forward, it will be with both our best interests at heart. :)

You need a better bank. This is not NORMAL behaviour. You're not alone but it's not typical.
Paypal is unlikely to help since it's still coming from the same bank.

Talk to your bank, see if there's anything that they can do. Alternatively, use the switch service and get a better bank.

Thank you.

I've just got off the phone to Natwest now and their stance was basically just "computer says no". It's an automated process and there's nothing they can do to stop it happening even if I pre-warn them in advance that I'll be making the payment. Looks like I am going to have to switch accounts but unfortunately that process takes 7 working days so my odds of picking up a FE 3080ti on Thursday have likely been reduced from slim to zero.

***** sake.

Sorry to quench any optimism but the only LHR cards that we've had information about so far are 3060 "V2" and nobody has confirmed whether or not "V1" will be discontinued, so it's still too early to say what's going to happen. What you should read into earlier comments is that we are looking at what options are available in case the cards that were back ordered are discontinued.

This is literally the biggest level of incompetence I've ever seen in this industry. nVidia are absolutely useless.

ive not been following recently, so help me out please, im 172 in queue (3080 Tuf OC) .. since TI and LHR models are coming out, is there no chance we are getting these cards now ?

So, if i read correctly it could be appx 400 quid more to get a 3070ti possibly (I know thats not fact yet)

Sure everyone is annoyed with this :> WTF are these new prices coming out. 30 series started so well and all hell broke loose :(

Do you think its worth spending possibly hundreds more, or waiting till hell ends.. surely at some point... it must ..
I realise it depends on your situation, I currently have 1070ti, its not that bad... but really after an upgrade for multiple reasons.

@Alex Hughes

I ordered back in October (3080 TUF Non OC) and still early 500s in the queue. Hypothetically, if it became an option, I'd happily upgrade to a TI model for £400. That would take my cost to not much more than the MSRP for the FE TI and would be a tremendous upgrade over my seven year old 980. It would be nice to hit over 60fps on high settings again!

We are being told that current orders would not be migrated to lhr models, but not to jump to any conclusions.....

at the same time no updates on gibbo thread or queue emails so... speculation is all we got :') I'm below 20, this is gonna hurt... hopefully I can get lucky at 3080 ti launch, but the partner that's selling them for nvidia keeps banning my ip because their captcha is hot garbage :')

To people who've managed to snag a 3080/any other in-demand GPU, how did you manage to pay for it instantly?

This is probably a n00b question, but I only ask because everytime I try to make a high value payment on my card, my bank (Natwest) always blocks it, locks my card and makes me go through counter-fraud security to reactivate it. Will paying through PayPal stop this issue? If not, does anyone know how I can get around it?

Thanks

Amazon pay works for me, for some reason I have noticed PC component vendors seem to trigger fraud alerts at my bank (lloyds).

However if you find card is only form of payment without amazon pay, you can try something like a curve card. I wouldnt try the paypal debit card now, paypal have suddenly become super paranoid, they blocking £40 payments to asda for my food shopping lol, and on the vendors they not blocking i am required to manually login on paypal.com/verify for each transaction now so no good for drop's.

Ordered mid October. Believe i started around 400 in queue for the Giga 3080 Gaming OC. Been at 9th in queue since May 14th.

No idea what to do. Wait another month or longer with the possibility of never getting it if they solely produce 3080ti's!? Attempt to order a 3080ti for at least £400 more!?

Nvidia shouldn't have started producing the new TI cards until later in the year after they had fulfilled far more orders. Just corporate greed & a total disrespect to customers.

@Pogogacy, I can second the message about using Curve as I use it myself, and used it to snag my Strix 3080 OC back in October. It also gives you the ability to move your payment around different cards too, so if you bought it on your debit card but actually meant to use your credit card, you can move the payment across. :)

I do most of my Curve payments on my Lloyds credit card, though, so I don't know if that helps in any way!

Edit: Oh also, if you do go with them it's worth asking Curve themselves to raise the spending limits on the card as they're a little anaemic for those that buy graphics cards lol. It costs nothing to do and the CS is excellent :)
