Easy to do yourself in most cases, euro locks with anti snap and a high rating. You just have to pick the right sizes, a dimension from front lock to side hole and from side hole to back of the lock. Most are standard and you don't want one thats too much longer than your handles or it can be broken more easily.

Probably something to do with your having no idea who may have copies of the existing set of keys. May be an insurance issue if you get robbed with no sign of forced entry. Or find someone secretly living in your attic.
Does the same apply then if its a new build?

I changed my first house keys but didn't bother on my new house. Would have to be very unlucky and have some dodgy people you bought off to be burgled this way.

Mmm makes sense but moved house twice now (last time 2 months ago) and never bothered. The previous owners seemed like normal, nice people so never had any concerns.... Can see why people do though

You should be changing the locks if they're the euro style cylinders. The ones that come with doors/new builds/etc are terrible and are so easy to break into. My neighbour got done three times with the same method.

Look up "lock snapping". Amazes me that people protect tens of thousands of pounds of gear inside their house (and the car keys) with a £6 lock.

Look at replacing them with Avocet ABS locks.
