If you're into the meme stocks....I'd just wait for the dump and get in for the next pump tbh.

Personally I'm all in on SMT (as far as my S&S ISA anyway), and I'm going to keep increasing that for the rest of the year.

Of course they aren't getting caught out, they are hedge funds. Clue is in the name. The first movement was unexpected. These ones aren't. They'll be laughing all the way to the bank at the volatility....just waiting until the next reddit pump, and then opening their short positions.....raking it in from all those mugs that are trying to chase the memes.

But it serves the narrative of the meme stocks to have a boogeyman figure to pretend to stick it to when you're trying to drag more bag holders into the pump.

Some have been reported to be losing around 800 milliion in a day. And that was before yesterday.

Its funny how when retail investors make a great move and play with the exact same system its a
"meme", when a bank or investors do it, its " Smart investments".

None of this is a "meme", the only one who are serious about calling them meme stocks are the absolute idiots at Motley Fool. Every one on reddit is seeing them as memes as a joke.

Can't believe I'm saying this. But looks like meme stocks might be worth trying. Everything I have is flat for at least a month while these meme stocks pump more than crypto.

Just don't buy in the morning, maybe if you are off work and can stand by to sell them tomorrow at the afternoon.

FOMO isn't a good trading strategy :P

You've missed the boat this cycle, anyone buying meme stocks now is more than likely a bag holder.

There will be better entry points to meme stocks.

Oh yeah I'm not going in this cycle. Been caught out in crypto doing that. And I do get FOMO. I usually resist it. But the gains are hard to ignore on this

Genuinely cannot believe the meme stocks are still doing well. I was sure gme would peak 2 or 3 times and die. But with this level of cash it could basically turn its hands to anything.

Thing is crypto fomo can still lead to amazing gains, as the ceiling is god knows what. Is xrp worth £1 or £10 or £100? However gme we know is well over priced. It will go up, it will go down again. It can't get to £2k and then £50k like btc for instance.

Well it's funny that AMC goes +100% and then almost like clockwork the posts pop up on reddit like "here's my over the top DD which shows why AMC is still going to go up way further from now and you should definitely buy in as soon as possible"

Uh huh

Posts like that show what was going on have been happening all the time to be fair.

My favourite are the chart lines. Take the previous chart. Find a pattern. Draw some more lines. Bang. This is what it's gonna do.

Someone needs a job to go back through all these historic charts and see how many were correct!

I was given an ig.com account for my birthday so I didn't get the chance to compare their fees to other trading platforms, but IG do appear to be quite expensive.

Is there a general consensus here of who is "the best" in terms of functionality and value for money?

this article says differently I think?

Ah the ol meme stock cycle:

  • Meh it's just another pump and dump
  • *stock drops 10%* "and thus a new generation of bag holders was born"
  • *stock rises again*
  • Go back to step 1
