Rtx 3080 vs Rx 6900 XT

Anybody using the 6900XT for a three monitor SIM setup ? My 3070 doesn't have any problems, but would love to turn the details up higher.

I had an order for a 3080 card with overclockers. I cancelled and bought the Sapphire 6900XT from them. I'm very happy with it.

More video ram and the performance is great at 1440p and while upscaling in some games.

I pulled the trigger on a gigabyte 6800XT. (cost a grand, new)
It seems that, in the end, I hadn't the gumption to pull the trigger on a 6900XT at £15 or £1600.
:)

Thank you for your advice folks.
It really helped me choose between price/performance and practicality.

Next question, just occurred to me, will my, less than one year old, Corsair 650w psu be enough to handle Ryzen 5 3600 cpu and the new Rx 6800XT gpu?
Watt do you think? (Pun intended).

I'm going to give it a go anyway and post back results if it helps anyone else.

Plug it in and see what happens, if it works it works and if it doesn't then buy an upgrade

The recommended is 750W, but you might be okay. I know others here have used 650W and perhaps even lower spec PSUs and had no issues. Just use separate PSU cables.

What do you think?

I'm torn between the two.

My inherent herd instinct says go for a 3080. Brain says go for a 6900 XT.

Price of available 6900XT is lower than 3080 .

Mainly for VR racing sims.

Very little else.
This (link) might help you make up your mind.
Edit: I just saw that you had already pulled the trigger. Good luck with your purchase. What model is your Corsair PSU? If it is one of the higher quality ones then you should be fine.

Hi,
Its a corsair vs650. Probably middle of the road quality. If I find it isn't up to scratch I'll replace it.
