YouTube app ever increasing ads - alternative?

scam app. Did you install vanced from the playstore? If you did, uninstall it follow the instructions here: Download YouTube Vanced APK [NON-ROOT] for your Android smartphone (xda-developers.com). Any copy of Vanced you see on the playstore is fake.

This website = fake (mentions the 'upgrade' to puretuber):
No ads, background play and download - YouTube Vanced APK, Vanced | YouTube Vanced

This is the real website:
YouTube Vanced (vancedapp.com)

Thanks for this. I installed something form the Play Store yesterday called Vance Kit. Was suspicious about it, now uninstalled. Probably has lots of fake reviews too.

Set up four new Gmail accounts. Made a family out of them and joined up via India. All seemless. Nice not to have adverts on the TV!

2,630 hours of ad-free videos watched since January 2020... Can't knock that.
130 videos watched offline and 10 hours of YouTube music (I only use music on my mobile as we have Amazon Music at home with Alexa devices)

How do you know those stats?

Time watched shows 7 days of history.

Grab a free VPN trial from somewhere like Surfshark, set the location to Indian, go into your YouTube account payment section and set up a subscription.
You'll also need to grab a random Indian address as well iirc, there's plenty of random address generators online.

I'm trying to do this right now but it says subscriptions are unavailable and is offering a 1 month or 3 month pre paid option?

"Vanced" on mobile. Surprised I didn't need to root my device. Disabled youtube app after installing to stop double notifications and other odd things. (not available from the playstore btw).

Works great so far. Very happy not having to put up with adverts. Doesn't work quite the same, but good enough for me.

I wonder how long it will be allowed to exist though.

Vanced, been using it for many many years. I can't use YT with adverts, it ends up being unusable if you skip around a lot.

Has anyone used Smart YouTube TV on an android TV box?

Apparently Vanced doesn't work well on Android TV but i'd really like to have ad free youtube viewing on my Nvidia Shield. I've seen Smart YouTube TV mentioned on reddit quite a bit but I dont know how trustworthy it is.
