Does "in stock" mean you actually have stock?

I ordered a 3060 on Saturday evening, while the item was showing 10+ in stock. Paid for next day delivery (as that is the cheapest you offer), so I was expecting it to be dispatched on Monday, arriving today.
Still hadn't recieved a dispatch email, so I decided to call and see if they had an estimated postage date (as in, would it be this week?).
I was told by a very friendly chap on the phone that the 3060 I ordered was NOT in stock and they were awaiting a delivery.
I'll be honest, I was a bit miffed by that - why show something as "in stock" when you have no stock?
Was the stock number just showing how many you are expecting soon, or how many you actually had? If the former, do you have any indication of when you will have the item and be able to post it out?

If a product shows in stock, as in a green with a number 1-9 or 10+ then we do indeed have physical stock.

On the rare occasion a product can sell very fast and unfortunately oversell or of course there can be a stock error, as in the stock count is incorrect or warehouse have lost stock, rare but it can and does happen on rare occasion.

Which 3060 did you order as I can see all stock and can try and look into what happened for you.

Hi, thanks for replying.
I was the "Asus GeForce RTX 3060 TUF OC V2 LHR 12GB GDDR6 PCI-Express Graphics Card" (GX-46L-AS) - it was showing 7 when I ordered it.
I have sent the same post as a customer service request as suggested above, which I have also included the order number (I don't know if you have access to those posts or not?)
Thanks :)

Ah yes I mentioned this card in another thread, we did have stock but unfortunately the stock sold so fast that it was too fast for our website to update unfortunately and we over-sold by one unit, as such I am guessing you are that one card that over sold.

If you are happy for me to do so, I shall upgrade your order to the ROG Strix version if you wish and I can do this for you free of charge, so consider it a free upgrade, please let me know? :)

Yes, I am happy with that upgrade (to the GX-46H-AS) - If you could put that through I would be eternally grateful!
Thank you again!
