What "man jobs" have you done today?

Dismantled the dishwasher to try and fix the e24 error. Not the first time. Eventually tracked the blockage down on the drain pump outlet.

Re-assembled it. Turned it on and the breaker blew. Partial re-assembly and inspection reveals that water leaked out of the matrix somewhere while being manhandled, and ran onto some electrics. Put the dehumidifier on it overnight....but it is dead.

Now googling for new dishwasher.....
 
Some tight tight angles. I'm about 3 decades over due to get myself a nice mitre saw.

Had a shower yesterday, only to find a big puddle of water in the lounge under the ensuite afterwards! So, dismantled the shower tray drains to find the pipes weren't properly fixed and sealed to the tray. So spent the morning cleaning, drying and glueing both pipes.



Will remove the clamps today and put it back together. Fingers crossed I have fixed the problem.
 
I might have to forward this to lazy inlaws. We went down there at the weekend and quite a few of the doors don't have the barrel in. It takes next to no effort/time to change them (especially if done when the old one is removed) but they just haven't done it:rolleyes:. Also had chocolate brown sink and toilet (need a sick emoji:p). Also as it was abingdon way, didn't realise you had to pay extra for garden waste bin, seems light daylight robbery to me:eek:. Also afree about the doors, it's almost professional :D.

Varnished stairs and doors, 2 coats fine sanding then final coat. Bit of chalking needs doing to tidy knewl posts the walls.

Pain in the arse laying 80x80 cm tiles in a smaller area, had to under cut one side and cut out door frames. Toilet not in position yet

I'd complain to the workman about that trip hazard he's left in the middle there. I mean it's all well and good giving it a yellow blob, but you'll fall right over that if you're not paying attention. ;)

Oh man I am so glad you made this post. I reckon I've seen that tile photo about 3 or 4 times and it was hurting my brain. It is a ******* step. It is so obvious. I can see it now!
 
1st fix...

Dropped a couple of clangers, but most unseeable by the normal human. I fitted some 600mm runners that extend 1100mm for a shoe shelf that means you can get right to the back. Works a treat.

Ignore the masking holding the front of my PC on, little one was fascinated by what I was up to and discovered she could rip it off :rolleyes:
 
Stupid man question for you all. I've bought a pull up bar and I went to fit it but the instructions say 8 or 10mm dia. I've measured the fixings (the ones for brick that expand out, the metal heavy duty ones). My questions is that they measure 12mm dia. I'm not being daft to drill at 12, I think it would take a lot of effort to make it fit in a 10mm hole:cry:. I only ask as ive not used the type before, I've found a pic of similar fixings below. What's wierd is the bolts look like M6, which I'd have thought would be a tad underspecced (although there's 8 in total so maybe not).
