Hi.

I've bought an msi 980ti gaming. Not arrived yet, my psu is a seasonic S12III 550W. Cpu is an I3 10105 and I have 2xnvme drives and 1 spinner+ dvd.

Will it be OK power wise or do I need to upgrade? Thanks in advance. I'm currently running an 8 pack edition kfa2 970 and that works fine.

The i3-10105 is only a quad core, so power consumption should be pretty low for the rest of the PC. Likely below 50 watt for the CPU.

Thank you. A little worried as is says 600w on their site.

A 980 Ti was high end so people were pairing them with a high end CPU such as i7. That combo would need a 600w.

Due to advances is technology, your modern i3 uses less power than the old i7 CPUs, even though the core count is the same, so your 550w PSU will be okay.

Yes, it's in and running. It might be going back though, it appears the display ports don't work on it. It works via HDMI though. About to test a game with it. Thanks again all.

The experience I have is the card spins but no display, on DP it says no signal detected. Monitor light blinks, nothing more

Any lights or beeps on the motherboard to indicate something is wrong? presuming you have a BIOS speaker plugged in to it... Have you tried a different outlet on the GPU?

It works via HDMI, really well in fact! Warzone never looked so pretty or played so well. Yes yes it's no 3080 but it does the job.

You will need to run this on your gpu to make it work right with dp on that monitor.

NVIDIA Graphics Firmware Update Tool for DisplayPort 1.3 and 1.4 Displays

Yes as originally stated by Sone, I just ran the update tool and it said it needed updating and it did. Is there any benefit to running my monitor on DP rather than HDMI? my monitor is an LG 27UL600 27".

Thank you all once again.

Have you gone into the settings of the monitor and set displayport 1.2 ? It's in the settings > general area, try changing the displayport versions and see if one makes it come up. Also make sure to use the displayport cable that came with the monitor to rule out any cable issues and if you have a spare cable too try that too. It is sounding more like a displayport issue regarding the settings.

Display port 1.4 and the update worked. Working with monitor now. Unfortunately no Gsync as Freesync monitor and I need a 10 series card for the work around. Still a good card though. Thanks again all.
