3080 Undervolting

Watch the video in the OP. And read my posts. 1900 @ 887mv is best for performance and temps. Given you are water cooling you could probably use his recommended settings for 1950 or 2000.[/QUOTE]

thx psycho tried the settings and temps where a little higher hitting 50 but whats weird is the core clock would go dow to 1850 and even 1780 when gaming does this mean its not getting enough juice?

It should be automatically adjusting based on load. Was this when gaming or benching? It will run lower when the game demands less power. For example if I lock my fps to 300 in CSGO it doesn't need to run at 100% power so will downclock. I get 750 fps at 100% load.

It's normal depending on application I've seen mine drop into 17xx even though temps read out is really good , with undervolt I can sustain the clock for me 1905@893mv seems stable and sweet spot for my card mostly stays 1920 though only quake with rtx still hammers the clock even with undervolt

Some cards may boost higher at stock that's probably silicone lottery officially the boost clock for 3080fe is 1710 so it's still within spec, this is my 2nd 3080fe sent back one coil whine was too loud but noticed that would boost up higher and stay higher at stock

So basically I'm taking the curve pulling it up so the 887mV and 1905mhz intersect. Then pulling down all points to the right of 887mV to the 1905mhz value. I'm not setting a offset first or anything.

Not had a single issue since. Sticks at 1905 with the odd drop into 1890. Quake is the only one that brings it down lower to 1850ish.

These videos do a pretty poor job of explaining an approach I think. Probably just me.

You and me both. i wasn't sure why i had to pull up one figure then pull down the same figure at a different point.

I think I'm going to give this a shot, going to drop mining at energy goes up and China breaks crypto, see what I can get the card to behave at, anyone got a 3080-FE and a set of ball park figures I can start at and then tweak from there?

Cards already had the thermal pads changed.

Mine doesn't seem to undervolt as much as others before stuttering/crashing in benchmarks and it's set at 906mV / 1920 MHz.
I found Heaven 4 to be more sensitive to voltage/frequency tweaks than the newer Neon Noir benchmark.

Read the first post maybe and watch the video?

It tells you exactly what settings you should be using.

You were mining without undervolt? crazy

65% power, -500 core, +100 RAM, just using the sliders in Afterburner
ah ok, -core and power limit sorta achieves same thing. Maybe could save couple watts using voltage curve flattened to lowest possible freq/voltage

As mentioned. Defo read OP. But look at my previous post. I think that seems to be a fairly good setting a few can achieve.

Hey all,

Since I done the under volting my 3080 clock speeds have been stuck at 1905mhz.
I got no idea why this would be the case the idle temps are at 52c
