How you going to survive winter?

I'll be dusting off my Selk’bag (sleeping bag suit) for the worst of winter. No need to heat the whole house just myself.

Worst case I'll charge up my EV for 5p/kwh in the wee hours and lounge in that. Has heated "leather" reclining seats, biggish screen for streaming services.

For sleeping just put it in camping mode to keep the HVAC on all night. DreamCase do a double bed set for the rear if it gets that bad :)

I’ve skied and been to Sweden where it’s been so cold if you take your gloves off you start losing sensation in your hand almost immediately. It’s never that cold here - occasionally I’ll get the merino base layers out but for the most part a decent mid-layer and wind/waterproof jacket = great success.

We dont have proper winters or cold here. I went on a weekend away to Ljubljana in January. Temps were -27C. Many layers of clothes involved and male thermal tights under jeans.

You could throw water in the air and froze instantly and never ever ever touch any metal outside with bare skin.

I remember in uni in the 3rd year in a shared house we tried to save money by not turning on the heating so I bought 100 tea candles for £1 from the Pound Shop and would light 4-5 in the evening. I close the door to my room and it's enough to take the edge off.

But when I wake up in the morning I could see my breath in the air inside my room. It actually feels warmer outside the house!

I doubt it's going to ever get that bad!

Reminds me of the use of small paraffin burners you put in a greenhouse :p

Rekon ive got 5oo litres of Heating oil (minimum delivery) although the house never gets really toasty, a very warm excel winter wetsuit, and good walking gear so pretty sorted hobby wise. obviously 3 flakes of snow and the county will shut down

you leave winter alone .. i'll still ride my motorbike as i have done for 10 yrs + and it's cod season so i'll be standing in sideways sleet watching my rods :) .. whats wrong with people that winter is a problem .. i grew up in canada well 7-15 yrs old .. -35 is the norm and drifting snow banks with 3-6 days of snow ..
NOW THATS A PROPER WINTER ... lol
