I was going to go a similar route myself, pair of Wharfdale 9.0s coupled with an SMSL SA-50 amp. But have decided to opt for a set of Edifer R1700BTs instead.

I've had a set of those KEF eggs for my surround sound set up for 10-12 years. Great little speakers

Im very impressed after sorting out the EQ settings as windows made them sound awful
