I'm looking for the best mouse you can get, NOT a gaming mouse. I need to use it comfortably for 12 hours a day, and I don't need all of the extras that generally come with a gaming mouse. Extra buttons do help, though.

Does anyone have any advice?

12hours a day with a mouse in your hand? comfortable you say?

is this even possible :p
maybe an old school ambidextrous mouse like a steel series sensei ten or some such

alternatively embrace the future (techs been around about a decade already btw)

Logitech M720 has been my favourite mouse at work for a long while - can easily use it for 8 hours with little to-no breaks.

Wireless which always seems better for long periods of time imo, and has slight ergonomic sculpting, but nothing "too" radical.

I have never found a mouse that was better for general PC work (for me) than the Microsoft Intellimouse Optical v1.1. You can only find them refurbed these days, as they were discontinued long ago. They're very lightweight, have 5 buttons including scrollwheel, with the 4th/5th buttons located one on each side - perfect for back/forward in browsers or programming in IDEs.

I use a very light claw/fingertip grip on my mouse, and the lightness of this mouse combined with the button locations is just perfect for me. To be clear, this is the completely ambidextrous version which comes in white or black, not the grey one which is closer to more modern mice in shape.

Edit: They are available at the moment, but even though OC don't sell them, I assumed it wouldn't be OK to post links. I also can't vouch for the sellers.

Got an MX Master here, use it for both work and play, regulary gets used for 12 hours a day. Honestly it's not perfect for gaming, but for productivity and general use it's great.

Looking to replace it in the coming future just as the battery life is beginning to die from several years of hard use.
