They couldn't have made a worse Matrix film if they tried. Can't help but feel it was either intentional or this director has completely lost her ability to direct. Matrix must have been a fluke of circumstance, timing and having her sibling be part of it.

I still refuse to believe that either of them were responsible for the substantive elements of the original movie, they might have leant their artistic direction to it but nothing they've produced since is of the same level.

The Matrix was mostly a rip off of Dark City. So many elements they took from it.

There is a subtlety to the original movie, underlying character motivations, symbology, just layers of meaning to just about everything, etc. which neither Dark City or any of the later movies has.

EDIT: Spooky you mentioned Dark City - I just literally mentioned Jennifer Connelly in another thread who was in that movie.
