Dedicated Stream PC 5900x thoughts

Hi guys,

Just wanted to gauge some thoughts, I am about to push the button on a dedicated streaming PC, it will also be used as my plex media server so the Mrs can continue to enjoy housewives of wherever.

I am going to throw a 5900x on a B550-I ITX board into an NZXT H1, reason for going down this small build is with all the **** in my mancave room is a valuable commodity.

Was just wondering if anyone had any experience with the NZXT H1 really, I am going to be streaming x264 on Medium to Slow on twitch etc on top of it being my media box. is this a bit overkill or just about right?

Is the 5900x slight overkill for dedicated streaming pc 4 cores is usually enough but no idea on plex server requirements.

I'm sure you won't run out of cores.

Yeah it is a bit overkill but didn't want to build something and find limitations if I change its purpose later on, got the 5900x a little cheaper and made savings by going for the H1 so wasn't too bad. The 5900x makes pretty short work of encoding x264 at decent bitrates in slow so super happy with it.

Going to migrate my plex build over later so will see how many transcodes I can get running on it tonight
