The issue is how does a puppet government stay in power unless they have military personal on the ground?? If enough people don't want it,it will collapse like the last pro-Russian government.

Poland operates Mig29 fighters so probably have compatible weaponary and spare parts.

Similar, except there would be no East Ukraine. It would be a region of Russia.

Not sure how partitioning the country would affect whest exports- where those lie in Ukraine. That could be a huge issue for food supply if it lies in the Eastern areas, under a partition.

Ukraine alone exports 24 mmt of wheat, which is primarily grown and milled in the country’s southeast, in close proximity to the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, to which Russia has already deployed troops.

They are located in the Eastern regions. Ukraine has some of the most fertile soil in the world.

The president has come out and said he's still in Kyiv, surely he should move to safer location and direct the resistance from there. If he goes then moral will collapse.

I'd be worried they will assassinate him or take him back to Russia and be executed as a 'war criminal'.

To be fair, Ukraine and Afghanistan are not comparable in many ways. Ukraine is mostly flat as a pancake, for example.

I watched a video of soldiers under attack and I said they have no cover... Standing in the open. My wife immediately commented on how flat Ukraine is (she used to live/work there).

I suspect there will be nothing so grand, the Russians are fighting under the assumptions that Ukraine is being run by a bunch of neo Nazi's so they will just shot him on sight.
