That’s not really how it works, and if that we’re to happen. Medical, Maintenance and logistics would collapse. There is a reason why there are different branches to the army

So call in your 2 million trained and armed reservists, to add to the front line AND to do the medical etc.

Russia outnumbers Ukraine any way you look at it.

Those figures are wrong.

He has over 1 million currently serving troops, with another trained 2 million reserves.
Forced conscription, that could be ten million easily.

Problem is they are the young men, their population is going down fast, this will only compound the problem.

Ukraine is getting a lot of help with money, food, weapons, training e.t.c. US just donated 600m to Ukraine.
This is what annoys me about the USA, they conjour up 600M out of no where, then there's people living in tents in major cities across the USA with just miniscule charity volunteer help, not all of them druggys, just people can't afford the high increasing rents and end up on the streets, losing their jobs.

This isn't just about Ukraine and Russia any more. A lot of the world has basically told Russia to do-one. There's also cyber warfare happening against Russia, which is looking like it's successful. You can't access anything inside of Russia now online wise. It's all been taken either offline or network segmented so only internally you can access it.

Apple Pay has also been stopped in Russia. There's a lot more stuff happening worldwide.

NATOs response is - Touch another country that's in NATO and you will feel the wrath of NATO, full force. Because of the rest of the stuff happening behind the scenes Russia is doomed.

There's a lot more wars going on that's not on the ground/air as such.

The troop war isn't the end of it regardless of who wins.

I fully expect it to get uglier before it gets better.

Putin is a if-the-screw-doesnt-fit-use-a-bigger-hammer kind of guy.

Putin may try to spin the "US influence" with all the internet and social media being off line. However I'd expect that Russia' blackouts may be in part one of attempting to control news internally. However cross border mobile internet means people will get the word in and spread quick anyway.

No not at all.

Just a realist.

Russia will win, of that there is no doubt, because NATO will never fight against Russian troops in Ukraine.

Fair enough.

Only unknown is what will happen the longer it goes on. Putin had this in the bag within a few days so he thought

That's the same with any country.

oh for sure, this is just the beginning. Germany stopped the development of the gas pipeline as well. UK has also frozen assets. This is a global war now, and will probably always will be from the day the attack was launched.

Whatever the outcome both countries are going to be cleaning up bodies for a while, blood on the hands of everyone.

Also true is history is littered with large army vs small army wars where the tactics have won out.

I would expect that russia would be focusing all on one objective - the blade of the knife into the capital. However very public oops moments like destroying housing and hospitals don't make it look particularly well executed.

I’m starting to think that rather than this master grand strategist Putin’s always been portrayed as, he is infact more akin to Zapp Brannigan from Futurama, and is currently attempting to enact the infamous “Killbot” strategy.

This is war, you will always get oops moments.

Look at the Gulf War with all the high precision weaponry, still made mistakes, and hit the wrong targets.

Russia does not have that high precision stuff, so likely more mistakes will be made, all part and parcel

This isn’t the 40’s or even the 90’s in Chechnya. This whole invasion is being played out on the internet for all to see. Russians are watching their kids get killed ‘liberating’ a country that doesn’t want them there and is fighting back.
I think they’d struggle to justify moving to a full war footing and get men willing to give up their jobs and maybe lives to fight people they considered brothers.

That unknown is what I am wondering, Putin is not going to simply give up and concede defeat. I think that he is just going to get more and more extreme with his methods. Seems to me that the only way this is going to end without huge bloodshed is if someone internally removes Putin.

I think what the last couple of days has shown is, in a conventional war Russia wouldn’t stand a chance against the USA never mind the full force of NATO

Can they get weapons, ammunition and supplies into Kyiv still? Looking at the maps shown yesterday, the Russians were only to the north and west of the city.
