People were asking me why I was scared of Truss and she's shown why, moron has got the Russian backs up needlessly and now they're talking about nukes.

It's a strange one for me. As time goes on in my head the chance for end of the world is getting higher.
I'm not talking 50/50 but it's growing.

Hardest part for me is with covid it was never this bad. I could take personal measures to protect myself.

This is a lottery if it happens.

I'm not afraid in that it's keeping me awake as I accept I cannot do anything about it.
Main fear is being left behind after. As uk in particular would be a wasteland.
Rioting, no heating, no food, toxic water etc etc.

Would probably be more concerned if I had kids. And for me, yet another reason not to.

Come off it lads, they are saying her name as a simple scape goat because she said something tangentially close enough to a threat. It is propaganda 101.

Saying how world peace was established by the balance of super powers and once the USSR fell it changed to peace by international law and rules set by the West / US. Now Russia / the world doesn't want to be told what to do by the West (U.S.) and the new Russian Empire (Russia, Belarus, Ukraine) will change the balance in Europe. Blah blah blah.

Its delusional, even if Putin gets his empire it will still be nothing compared to the wealth in the West and he will have problems with insurgency in Ukraine for years to come. His method of control is obsolete in the west particularly

I can't think of a single country more Prominent than Russia as an example of how not to squander your resources.

She made it too easy for them to exploit, that's the problem. I don't necessarily disagree with what she said, but making it publicly was unwise.

As someone who spent half their life during the cold war the threat is nothing new but you always got the impression that there were rational people on both sides of the berlin wall whatever the differences there were unspoken rules and lines that would not be crossed, this is different in that the decisions being made do not appear to be rational. Also whatever might say about the soviets they were driven by ideology they honestly believed that the communist system was superior to the West, but what does Putin believe in? What ideology does he believe in? It appears he's driven by personal resentment of the West and a nostalgia for the old USSR or russian empire neither of which are rational and they're certainly not driven by ideology to better the conditions of his people. In short, he's dangerous.
