We need further scrutiny on the government, Tories are balls deep with Putin and russian money. Much like lots of Trump allies.
Maybe that's true. There are certianly some money trails back to Russia. But if they were balls deep with Putin then why was the UK one of the first countries to sound the alarm, ship arms to Ukraine before the invasion and help train the Ukranain forces?

"if the tactical maps some sites have come up with are correct" - what else would that be?

Yes it could be correct, it could also be propaganda from one side or the other. We also don't truly know what either side have, apart from news outlet/twitter.

I've looked at several different sources and cross referenced the brigades and regiments deployed and how much action they've seen, etc. - there is only so much accuracy of detail I can get from online but it is broadly correct. I was also conservative with the Ukrainian numbers as it is impossible to know the actual strength of some units vs their supposed size on Wiki, etc.

There is the chance they’ve just been incompetent or reckless and realised the mistake? They do have form for that.

What makes you think it's correct? It might be, personally at the moment I'd be taken anything online with a huge grain of salt. It's proven over and over again misinformation during war times, isn't just important to the parties involved but to outsiders too.

They have no choice but to do that.

Millions in Russian donations. Brexit = Russian backed. Corrupt to the core.

I mean...Hades - are you going off of when Boris said " we were first" or evidence? And why is Abramovich allowed to sell chelsea? I appreciate he said that he'd give to charities...but we're seemingly allowing him to clean house, ship out then try and sanction him.

I've been following his stuff as long as anyone and as in detail as anyone (870 posts in this thread alone *gulp* are mine). I might not have everything right but I know the broad strokes and the likely real range of numbers, etc.

So cringe-worthy and embarrassing to watch the grim virtue-signalling from the Brexiteer govt...

On the same day new evidence of further Russian funds being accepted by those same scumbags...

And Russian donors to the Tories are given a reprieve from sanctions...

There is no love lost between India and China either, they are both very wary bedfellows for India, don't forget all the hand to hand brawls they have on the border...

From recent days events, I don't know how anyone can say wars ate unlikely between India and Pakistan, all the ingredients are there.

I'd strongly recommend you watch that youtube video you quoted back in my post.
When was the last time a nuclear armed country invaded another nuclear armed country? Do you honestly think half the Russian army would be in the Ukraine if they were a nuclear armed country?

Yes, when people call out the lack of sanctions against certain people, the line you'll hear parroted is "How can you tar all russians with the same brush?" - this is despite the referenced people having strong links to Putin. It's embarrassing.

More interesting than you'd think. Shows a lack of preparation and maintenance long before the invasion. Now they are paying for it

It actually goes deeper than I think that touches on - a lot of this is stock pulled back into service rather than pulling out reserve stock even - which probably does get some degree of maintenance.

alex2001 casually used "half the Russian army" above but most of this invasion has skimmed from the regular army and a lot of the basic infantry has been bulked out with newly drafted soldiers, mercenaries, etc. then pulling in Chechen forces, etc.

...and if we had your preferred Momentum controlled Corbyn government they'd probably be sanctioning Ukraine and sending weapons to Russia..

More interesting than you'd think. Shows a lack of preparation and maintenance long before the invasion. Now they are paying for it. Logistics so damaging for Russia

It feels like they only maintain the vehicles used in the large parades... It seems the Russian armed forces are in the quantity over quality camp from a lot of these instances we've been seeing with regards to dumped vehicles, desertions, surrender, generals selling their full and ammo off at the border etc etc. It makes me question if they are telling porkies with regards to their nuke count too. (Obviously I'm not saying they aren't a nuclear threat though.)
