US official is saying Ukraine still has lots of airplanes.

Pundit conclusion - Ukraine has air superiority.

Am I having a stroke or people completely abandoned any kind of cognitive abilities when reporting this war?

Below apparently from pentagon(have no idea whether it's really form pentagon or not):

'The airspace over Ukraine continues to be contested. The Russians do not have air superiority over the entire country but there are areas where they have more control than others, and the same goes for the Ukrainians,' a senior Pentagon official told reporters.

Wife of Putin's former mentor and current Russian Senator bringing up the issue of Russian losses:

Part of the issue here is that conscripts aren't supposed to be deployed unless they volunteer and sign a contract, some of these conscripts were apparently forced to sign a contract or had others sign for them (this perhaps ties into the footage the other day from Russian conscript soldiers who wanted to go home and were asked to first sign papers with some backdated discharge date essentially saying they were never there).

The losses are a bit (yikes!) too - a company of 100 only 4 returned!
Brave lady, need more like her

It seems like in your effort to froth your missed several key words. The article you have an issue with says Ukraine still maintains overall superiority, which is corroborated by your article that says Russia does not have overall superiority.

I have already said multiple times in this thread that Russian numbers will likely overrun Ukraine in the end, but it would be one of the most glorious days on this planet if by some miracle they rout these *******

I imagine she'll now have a fatal "heart attack" whilst travelling to Kaliningrad...

Keep in mind she's the wife of Putin's former mentor, she's clearly close to him... Her daughter also ran as a Presidential candidate basically as a joke/distraction candidate to help Putin (Putin is rumored to be her daughter's godfather too).

So, unlike most Russian politicians, she's probably in an OK position to actually speak out on things.

So why do they keep asking for a no fly zone, are the Ukranians wanting their own planes shot down ?

Was going to say the Ukrainians will have superiority in the western areas while Russia in the far north south and east. I suspect trips around Kyiv are pant browning for both sides.
With Russia having used most of its long range precision missiles I think the Ukrainians will be holding their airforce back and letting the Russians come to them unless really needed. Could get very messy for Russian pilots when they try to push. Helos will have a torrid time with stingers all over too.
So limited air cover for any advance should they try to surround Kyiv fully or push on westward.
I do wonder what surprises Odessa might have too for the Russian amphibious ships. Their bigger ships will probably sit at extreme range. Again, they’ve probably used most of their cruise missiles too…

I do not have an issue with the article, I was quoting a tweet that was citing "US official".

Regarding what I quoted it says that neither country has air superiority overall. Could you please point me towards information that claims that Ukraine has air superiority overall?

Edit: you also seem to have a unique view that if one country does not have air superiority then another country has to have air superiority. It was my view that neither country currently has overall air superiority.

I think she knows that Putin done her husband in too

Come on comrade, trolling like that is as good quality as mother Russia's invasion ability.

It's become more important to be uber pro-Ukraine and less about factual reporting. A prime example of this is reporters gleefully reporting "Russia breaks Geneva Convention" whilst saying nothing about the Ukrainians filming Russian soldiers as propaganda and having the SF guys post "we won't take any artillerymen prisoners" both of which also break the Geneva Convention.

Now it's important to note that how Russia is breaking the Convention it is far worse than how the Ukraine is doing it but ignoring what the good guys are doing because they're the good guys whilst hyping what the bad guys are doing because they're the bad guys is not good reporting. However thats all been lost in the rush to more anti-Russian than the next paper because thats what sells right now.
