Why is that relevant?

I'm old enough to remember Iraq x2, Afghanistan, and bits of the Falklands war.

I was making the point in my post that there is a time and a place to be comparing past events. In the middle of a war isn't the place to do it. I never suggested the West are angels.

Because the poster is making comparisons now it looks like he's saying because we did bad in the past then it's ok for Russia to do bad now.

I suppose you're not following the situation closely. There are a lot of Russian POW videos out there. Ukraine already held a press briefing/conference with 3 POW of Russian military policy (they are not soldiers, they were supposed to be anti riot policy in occupied territories)

Well unfortunately rather impossible to be a saint in war, there are only degrees of evil.

And that goes for the dedenders, just as much, if not more so than the attackers.

As a defender, you kind of need to do even more to the book and letter of the law.

Well they can cross the border loot/riot/kill etc and by some peoples logic it would be a "mostly peaceful protest"
