We are implementing all EU sanctions as well as the ones we hAve announced.. The trouble with London is the ability that the oligarchs seem to have to obstruct direct sanctions or property ownership searches. The law is being changed. Yes it should have been done a while back, yes most lawyers deserve stringing up alongside their clients but we do not seem legally able to kick them out into the street from Mayfair or Wentworth. A lot of work is being carried out cross party and the economic crimes units beefed up.
Meanwhile we just supply the means for Ukraine to carry on the fight, medical supplies, bullets and bombs.

You missed my point. If the US and UK have already ignored a treaty once. Will they do it again? NATO has never been tested like this before. Will the big countries in NATO risk ww3 because little Latvia has been invaded?

Given Putin's paranoia about NATO expansion threatening his security, it would seem to be an reasonably effective deterrent. Worked during the Cold War.

All true, but the “should have been done a while back” sits firmly on the Tories watch. Seasoned with a nasty whiff of funding and cover-ups (yes I mean Brexit) it’s not a lunch I am enjoying.

Are we now matching all EU sanctions and timelines?
 
I think we should do a no fly zone over Ukraine, I think Putin would blink first. He’s a Kleptocrat, world war 3 kicks off all those billions he’s stolen would become worthless, so would the billions his friend stole. I reckon they’d kill him before they let him wipe out their accumulated wealth.
 
To be fair it's a good chance for Russia now to take Putin out and the remove the old guard 1960s mentality and bring it out of the dark ages, remove the corruption and become a economic powerhouse that it should be for this day and age, all the natural resources it needs some great engineers, scientists etc.

All easier said than done of course but it's old strategy is no good at all.
 
People are deluding themselves if they think the US/UK will start a world war to save a country like this. Also do people really believe we would start WW3 for Estonia? I dont.

I reckon it’s a lot more likely than nuclear Armageddon that some people of here are guaranteeing if the so much as sneeze in Putin’s direction.

To be fair, we've already done far more than sneeze in his direction. The west has been supplying arms to Ukraine AND completely crippled Russia's economy and essentially deleted them from taking part in anything internationally.

I doubt it as Taiwan would be very hard to invade and I think people here think Taiwan will be some easy target. Having spent months there they are very prepared for any aggression from China and like Ukraine will fight for their freedom and would give China a bloody noise. Also close allies like Japan could become involved who are have a good modern army, maybe Thailand too.

Any aggressive move by China won’t go down well and could and probably would start WW3.

Yes, unfortunately there is no way for us to save Ukraine; there would just be massively more destruction.

we can however continue to support them - for as long as Ukraine fight.

If the continue to resist - Putin will have to come to the table and make peace.

I dunno man the nuclear fallout if they damage the power stations feels like an everyone problem.

Less chance in my view.

He will have surrounded himself with people who will die for him, they are that loyal.

Not a snowballs chance in a furnace that anyone with ill intentions could get within a mile of Putin without getting killed first.

Putin at the moment, will be the most protected man on the planet, more chance of someone on this forum getting assainated, than Putin.

That is all irrelevant.

Putin has laid out his red line, if NATO officially set foot in Ukraine, or fly over Ukraine, then he will count that as interference.

Anything up to that red line is ok apparently, untill he changes his mind i guess.


Same with NATO themselves, everything is allowed, untill a Russian boot sets foot in a NATO member country.
