Your views on this car would be appreciated as a replacement for my aging Skoda Yeti. It's the bottom-end manual 2WD variant. I drive very little - only a few thousand miles per year - though I'm about to do the North Coast 500.

It seems to have had a mixed write-up down under but I'm otherwise not finding reviews of this particular model - most articles concentrate on other models.

£37k for a bottom of the range, manual diesel Disco for someone who doesn’t drive much is mental.
But then again, you’re in Aberdeen so all that matters is you have a Land Rover on your drive.

As above why would anyone spend nearly 40k on a crap car they don’t drive much unless you want the neighbours to think you have a posh car.

If I were you I’d keep the yeti until
It dies or if you must have something new spend half your budget on something decent.

Blimey. £37k for a manual, diesel, 2-wheel-drive, base-model Disco. I'll pass thanks.
I just don't see the point in this car. It has all the disadvantages of an SUV with none of the advantages.

I still need a car and I'd like a decent one.

Nothing wrong with being manual or being a base model. I actually prefer manual drive cars. But I think everyone has highlighted all the issues.

What are you looking for in a car?

For the same price, you can get an X3 M40i with extended red merino leather, albeit high mileage :p

Only on OCUK could someone recommend a petrol SUV with a large engine (vs a 150ps diesel) which has covered an additional 56k and to top things off is over 1.5k more.

He could buy 5,200 space hoppers instead.

Go buy a Skoda Karoq if you have been happy with the Yeti.

Headroom and legroom are the primary considerations. SUV style - must cope with rough roads and the occasional field trip. Comfortable to drive. A relatively powerful engine would be nice. Budget is under £40k before trade-in.

You will not be happy with the Land Rover dealership experience then.

Quite probably.

Give the Volvo XC60 a look
