Yes, I saw but there's a chance that that one of the wheels might clip the mine and it goes boom. With coordination from somebody outside of the car the risk goes almost to zero but people make mistakes.

It's still possible for the vibration of the cars to set the mines off if there's a problem with them (and they are Russian) so there is some risk. The type of chavvy car you normally see revving it's engine in McDonalds carparks could prob set these off form a mile away xD

I wonder if they were even taught about Chernobyl considering the shadow it cast upon the USSR? Probably thought it was an operational plant with the level of detail they had seemingly been given about what they were doing and where they were going.

Suppose it's rather fitting that even 36 years later it was still getting in the way of the Kremlin's grand design.

Pentagon says Russian troops are leaving Chernobyl for Belarus - apparently they arriving in Belarus by the bus load with acute radiation poisoning and some of the Russian troops were even instructed to dig trenches in the forest around Chernobyl

Bunch of absolute *****, some of the Russian soldiers are claiming they did not know what Chernobyl is or that they were at Chernobyl

Even Ukrainian troops have been saying "it's a good thing we are fighting against idiots"

I think a lot of it has to do with the demographics - in Russian military hospitals right now the most common first name that appears is Muhammed and yet this isn't not even in the top 10 name for the whole country - it's because Russia is using conscripts and other poorly trained and educated soldiers from the more rural and poverty stricken east and south of the country. Of course not all Russian troops are from there, they have been sending in Spetnaz and other highly trained units which contain more Slavic sounding names but the vast majority of its cannon fodder is from the other poverty stricken regions

There are a few Russians still making vlogs on YouTube, quite interesting how they said initially there was almost no information as to what was going on and even now they are told they are crazy/believing in conspiracies if they try to talk about the information they can see as to the reality via YouTube which is about the only external source of information they have left. And how especially a lot of the older generation are living in a bubble of reality with a lot of ignorance even to the real history of Ukraine let alone current events. So probably some of those soldiers, not just the ones from poorer south and east parts, have no real idea about Chernobyl.
