I made additional female avatars but they didn't fit in the theme. You're reading too much in to Mary Corleone being the bottom of the rank system.

This was in revision 1 (having Jimmy Conway as a user rank) but the moderating team felt like it was better to maintain De Niro from heat, for consistency.

I didn't post it but there exists an avatar of Frankie Carbone in the freezer, which we considered :):D

The new avatars are actually BIGGER than the old ones. Previously, there were at least 3 different sizes... I created them all using the admin avatar as a template which happened to be the largest on the old forum.

There's definitely a focus to focus on the character and not the face.

Good that you made additional ones. Out of interest in what way didn't they fit the theme? I know you think I'm reading too much into it, but I expect this will be noticed at some point in the future soon. I'm just flagging it up before that happens :)

Fairly sure it won't, and yes you're reading too much into it.
 
Like I said in the upgrade thread, it would be nice to go for more PC/tech related things and brighten the forums up personally. There would be a huge amount of variation options then, and no need to worry about gender/race etc. Black and white gangsters always felt a bit depressing and not very welcoming to me.

Who wouldn't love an RGB avatar? :p

I have such nostalgic memories of the pancake avatar, I'm now thinking of a flowery petal type image.

100% more female representation is better.

These were some I made that we couldn’t fit in without opening a can of worms.

A couple spring to mind;

Livia Soprano, Annalisa Zucca & Lorraine Calluzzo - Sopranos

All three were high up / highest in the chain of command.
