If this is a trick and I end up becoming some porn bot I'll kill you.

Like you arent already come on now.

I have noticed in the last few months loads of random tweets coming into my timeline usually with a "because you like football" tag. I'll give that fix a try tomorrow as im getting the worst wannabe IndyKailas in my timeline at the minute and people are lapping it up...

The Chelsea/Ronaldo rumours surely aren't true? They've literally just bombed out a centre forward because he cannot contribute to the overall team performance.

18 goals v 8 last year
Ronaldo played around 1000 more minutes than Lukaku though. That said, Ronaldo is a better goalscorer than him but I don't think it was a lack of goals that led to Lukaku's bombing out at Chelsea. I think Tuchel preferred playing Havertz through the middle because he offered more to the side and Lukaku kicked up a stink. I'm not sure how that changes with Ronaldo.

Chelsea's new owners need to make a statement signing to show it's 'business as usual', would they be daft enough to go for Ronaldo? probably. I see Bayern are now linked with de Light whose been been quite strongly associated with chelsea the past week or so. Silly money as usual.

Back on topic I'm gutted Newcastle didn't push for Eriksen, I'd have loved him!
That would mean definitely no Paqueta.

I'm still holding hope.

So final flourish on transfer business

Diaby with Sarr as backup if it fail. He will break our transfer record.

Diaby and Maxi on the wings would be a throw back to Keegan era lol

Broja on loan

Annnnnnnnd Paqueta. He can play CAM, and basically anywhere up front.

Man, if we got Diaby I would be excited!

Broja looked good last season for southampton but only got 6 goals. Would be interesting on a loan to permanent deal, seeing if he develops further in the EPL. The striker situation is something of a sketchy area.

Wilson's fitness is a big question mark, wood is not prolific and Broja would be a potential gamble. Will need solving properly to break top part of the league in the coming seasons.

Ronaldo absent again. Doubts he'll leave with the squad on tour now.

Needs sorting out quickly so ETH's preseason isn't undermined by a media circus.

Our planning/execution has been a shambles...another "reboot" by the same people who's been there for years.

I'd like to say i'm surprised, this will descend into a farce. Also not surprising - but a bit peeved that he's done this now.

I guess the ball is firmly in Utd's court on this. There's no way Ronaldo has told Utd he wants to leave unless a deal has been agreed between him and another club. I know Utd are briefing the press that he's not for sale but I'm not convinced and I don't think any club keeps Ronaldo when he's decided he wants out. The media circus is bad enough when he gets subbed off in a game let alone when he wants to leave. I guess it's now a bit of a PR situation - Utd won't want to come out of this looking like they've had their pants pulled down (surely not enough to keep him though) and will want to sort some incomings before before he leaves so that you don't turn up at Arnold's house with your pitchfork.

Yes, although I don't see how we can possibly keep him without it causing major issues going forward. So we don't have many options.

Chelsea seem to be the most keen, and would Ronaldo at Chelsea really be that big a deal - he's hardly going to raise their level much, if at all. He's on £500k/week by all accounts - ruling out most clubs.

I'd be happy if he went for a nominal fee, and then we need to find a replacement. A highly rated up and coming young striker would be preferable to Ronaldo anyway (I'm thinking along the lines of Jonathan David or similar).

The Chelsea links seem bonkers to me but it does seem the most likely destination right now.

As I touched on above, I suspect Utd will want to have a replacement and or other incomings lined up before he goes, simply to improve morale amongst your fans.

Do you think Ronaldo has conceded that he will need to take a pay cut to secure a move?

I think he'll have to, unless sponsors were involved. I'm sure the finances around him are fairly complicated.

Could easily be a legit reason he is not there yet.

There could be, but the consensus from good sources seems to be that he's effectively on strike. He was pictured yesterday driving out of the Portugal national team training facility.

I mean what are the chances he effectively announces he's keen to leave and then immediately has some sort of 'family problem'. Of course he suffered a tragedy a few months ago, but he was training and playing almost immediately after that.
