Commercial dance is going through a mid-90s phase at the moment. Beyoncé has released "Break My Soul" which has the same organ sound from Livin' Joy's "Dreamer", Nightcrawlers "Push The Feeling On" and Alex Party "Don't Give Me Your Life". I quite like it, although it feels a bit too bandwagon-y for me. Like she's using her established status to latch onto this scene. I much prefer Beyoncé as an R'n'B artist.

Livin' Joy and Reel 2 Real were massive dance acts in the mid-90s, so I was looking for more along the lines of their stuff, but recorded in maybe the last 3 years or so. This springs to mind, recorded last year!

Having zero interest in commercial music, mainly because I have little time to listen to music anymore, this is a breath of fresh air. 90s or early 2000s dance/trance was the pinnacle of music for me.

Have you listened to Bicep?

Saw them at Glasto, really reminded me of old school 90s dance.

That Glasto set looks amazing. That's the other thing about dance music is that I have always been a sucker for the production at gigs and clubs, especially with lasers and LED panels. Although not house music, but the Chemical Brothers have always been great for production value.

Not exactly new but Blind Faith - Chase & Status. If the song doesn't then the video absolutely nails it. I'd have been in one exactly like it, if we had camera phones back then :D
