COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

Wife has had it all week. I started testing positive this afternoon but have had a cough for over a week which honestly seems to be lessening now. I do have a bit of a sore head though and I'm feeling tired.

Oddly when I woke up and checked my garmin app it's showing my body battery at zero. That's never happened before and I'm usually around 50!
Mine did exactly the same thing and I was showing 24 hours solid of high stress lol

COVID really seems to mess with some people's hearts - even Omicron. We've got 3 people at work who I don't think are really going to be the same again post COVID in that respect - one of them quite young and not unhealthy to start with. Couple more people I know it caused them short term problems (mostly because they tried to get back to running again too soon I think) but seem to be back to themselves now they've given it a bit of time.
It messed with mine and I was pretty worried to be honest. I'm not certain it's 100% back to normal but it's heading in the right direction. Running wise I've ran every day this week and I'll be back to where I was distance wise next week, pace though went through the floor, that's going to take a few more weeks.

HR still elevated though for seemingly mild exertion, just yesterday it went from 50bmp sat down to 100bmp just walking to the fridge. It doesn't make much sense to me because my HR training zones are almost back to normal and even after an hours run it's fine and plummets 50bmp within the recovery record on the Garmin which I think is 1min 40 seconds.

Well, went to the office today which ended up in drinks there (we have 2 bars at work and it’s nothing to do with the government :D ) and despite my cab fetish ended up walking about a mile to City Thameslink. With the barmy weather the streets were packed with drinkers. Good for them I guess but there is a way to go. Only mask wearer on the train home, and as much as I’m pro mask, on a hot train, with a bottle of wine in you it’s hardly pleasant. Still Mrs CO has an op that has already been delayed by 7 weeks (see: Unintended consequences of Covid the deniers ignore) so was worth it.

I read we have the highest numbers in London at the mo, and no wonder.

You can still report the status of your LFT on the govt website by entering the strip number.

I couldn’t be bothered doing this. Anyone else does this?

Yes, and they send you a code to put in the track and trace app.

I wanted to so I have a recorded of testing +ve on my Covid record as I’m traveling to Canada and they have random testing at the airport and I don’t want a false +ve so I have to isolate.

Also had to get a PCR test after I did a bit more reading.

No - nothing.

Dont even have to isolate when positive if you dont want to - its just this thread is a bit skewed to the more overly cautious shall we say.

We don't need it now either which is nice. Except for anything health related.

I've got it at the moment, pretty sure it was a woman in ALDI coughing and spluttering all the way round.
By the time I had heard & seen her I'd already walked through loads of her droplets and immediately walked out.

We now have 215 Covid patients in our hospital which is worse than Lockdown 1, no idea of the death rate though.
