Yup, according to one of the earlier videos with some sort of briefing it seems they were at one location for a few days (presumably for admin, medicals(?)) then they mentioned 2 weeks of training (LOL). I guess perhaps if they ostensibly all have prior military experience then a 2-week refresher (while not exactly ideal) is kinda doable, but if some of them are completely fresh then that's going to be interesting.
 
I think it's great if it's true...

Just like with Hitler before him, I suspect it is highly unlikely a power hungry despot dictator like Putin has the where-with-all and capacity to actually manage and control a large army himself.
I very much doubt his FSB background gave him any of the required skillset.

It does however, firmly place the blame for any continued failures entirely on his head / shoulders and could well be one of the final nails in his coffin, in the eyes of the Russian population. (we can only hope)

I get that but I don’t think people in the UK if they were conscripted would be getting blind drunk. I don’t feel sorry for them though, for years Russians as a whole have been allowing this to happen. Turning a blind eye to what is going on in their country letting apartment buildings getting blown up by their president or him murdering Russians abroad. Even with this war they turned a blind eye, knowing full well what was happening to Ukranians. They don’t care if Ukranians die. Now when it affects them they get drunk or flee the country.

Russians do not care about other peoples life, in general, they are cold.

People did protest but they got taken away/arrested. Vocal public figures fell down stairs and out of windows.

The UK public is also letting its government destroy its country, only via other means to what you've stated the Russian government has done. So I don't think the populations are as different as you think.
