Did anyone actually expect anything else. My average rate is heading to sub 10p/kwh due to steps I have taken to reduce it.
Why should I be subsidised more?
As above GO tariffs, Cap does not apply.

"First of all, the Energy Price Guarantee is a genuinely important programme that will prevent millions of people from slipping into fuel poverty this Winter. I welcome it, because it’s the scale of intervention that our current fossil–fuel energy crisis requires.
That said, it’s a fairly blunt instrument — designed to reduce the harm of very high unit rates, but with little focus on the benefits of time–of–use consumption: the cornerstone of our smart tariffs.
The Energy Price Guarantee caps the average unit rate to 34p / kWh (this number varies by region) — and with a smart time–of–use tariff, that means the combined average of your off-peak and peak rates is capped at 34p.
So although your day rate is above 34p, the Government’s rules are very clear: we can’t apply the subsidy because your night rate is so low, and overall you’re already paying less than the Energy Price Guarantee rates for your electricity."

So yeh, your average unit is well below the cap, not sure that the issue is.
It’s pretty much exactly what anyone sensible thought would happen.
That said I’m sure there is going to be lots of angry people on Facebook thinking they were going to be getting a full wedge of cake to eat.

I don't know why. Eon will take a reading up to 5 days after.
Only works if you have the cash now to pre pay your future energy use
So are the unit rates and SC rates going to be standardised at the same level throughout the country then so that the average usage households that uses exactly 2,900 kWh of electricity and 12,000 kWh of gas in a year (the OFGEM figures used by the government) will only pay £2,500?
Those figures look crazy low to me, I don’t waste or leave anything on and I would struggle to hit those kWh figures

So much depends on your lifestyle and house:
Elec: Estimated annual usage: 3,538.88 kWh
Gas: Estimated annual usage: 5,774.34 kWh
EPC B-rated new build, condensing boiler. During the year used to calculate this, for 4 months (december to end of march) we had 4 adults and a kid in the house. Lots of use of the tumble dryer over that period, which I think will have inflated the elec usage by maybe 200kwh over the year. Otherwise, 2 adults. Both WFH full time.
My wife feels the cold really badly, so inside is kept above 20 degrees. This winter that will be managed with smart thermostats so it's restricted to the room she'll be in at that time,

Still not had an email from EON, even if my fix is cheaper it would be nice of them to let me know.
Pretty much as expected. Even though my day rate is slightly above the cap at 35.05p on Go, with the night rate as well it still looks like I'm going to save between £70-90 over the year by sticking to it. Time to get the calculator out and figure out the payoff time for some batteries! (Edit: ~£1.5k/year saved if I managed to switch all my usage to the 7.5p overnight rate. That makes the payoff period around 3-4 years depending on battery size?)
Disappointing there is still no info about the Tracker tariff though, even if it was just a "we're not doing anything with it" so we can make an decision based on facts rather than a random guess >_<

no complaints on the Go tariff from me I am on a good deal however I imagine those who have go but DONT use much off peak power may lose out. that said that is not who the go tarrif is for and at the end of the day they can always move on the the SVT if not happy
Same with BG.
I'm still none the wiser. Currently set for for Eon Next v19 to kick in on the 6 Oct, after customer services informed me to wait before switching to SVR. Now have multiple DD payments setup. Agree, seems sensible to submit readings today (if you can)!
Combine it to what? It's a cap per unit not £2500 no matter how much the government tries to make it sound like that.
