Do you ever listen to the Radio when you're at home?

I love listening to the BBC World Service. They'll talk about stuff I have no interest in, Angolian basket weaving or something like that and I find myself pretty much transfixed by it. I've got a Siri shortcut that'll fire up BBC World Service and play it on all the Sonos speakers. It's great when I'm cooking, doing the laundry and so on.

a lot, Radio 4 in the morning, (in the car too and on the way home) radio 5 most the weekend for sports (mainly when doing jobs which is most the time) Radio 1 on Friday night for dem tunez

Yes, the wireless is always on. I’ve been working from home for over five years now (since before it became trendy) and it’s always playing in the office. For years I had it automatically come on Radio 2 in the morning then switch to Caroline in the afternoon but that changed when Boom was launched and that’s what I have playing all day now.

Local radio is non existent now. Far too many stations have been taken over and there is no real local radio left. I think it’s an utter disgrace.

The wireless in the UK is in a dreadful state. It was shaken up in the 60s when the offshore stations came along and got another kick in the teeth when Laser started but it’s drifted back into awfulness. I don’t know what can be done about it now but something needs to happen.

Since I purchased a Sonos soundbar, we have Radio channels streaming everyday. We flick between Radio 6, 2 and 4.

In fact, we find that we're listening the radio far more than we watch television. TV is only on for a couple of hours in the evening after we've had dinner.

Radio is on for most of our waking hours here, either on my laptop when WFH or on the Alexa when cooking, cleaning etc. If the radio isn't on, either it's Spotify or the TV.

Yep, always have it on in the office if I’m at home or the office office. Radio X or absolute radio 90s/00s. It’s like an old friend.

I switch Radio news off instantly if i am close by. Especially radio 4 dont get me started on radio 4 rage induced politics either.... shocking radio.

All the time.

Radio 4 and 6 Music. (Apart from Chris Hawkins who is 2 points below Jo Whine Whiley on the condescending look at me stakes and Steve "I have been in music for so long and worked for the NME you know" Lamaq both deserve to taken off air and moved to obscure internet radio from shetland with only sheep as listeners.
Agree on Lamacq but Hawkins has been part of my morning routine for years, he’s perfect for that slot. I met him this year and he’s a genuinely nice bloke too, or very good at pretending.

Yes, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 6 Music. BBC Radio 3 sometimes before bed.
BBC Cornwall when down there.

BBC Radio 2 since at least... 1995/96. Even on the Ghetto Blaster taking it to the Motocross late 90s. I'm missing Steve Wright in the afternoon now. It always had that homey sound of the 90s/early 2000s. Including Ken Bruce in the mornings who is still there that I've been listening as background filler from the 90s.

The radio has always been on in the kitchen until 6pm. Which goes as far back as I remember being a toddler.

Evenings it used to be Tiger Tim on Clyde 102.5 for 7pm until 9pm during the 90s.
