I got the Strix X670e-e.
That made my wallet scream! The most I've paid for a new board was £250 on a Prime Z270-A?

This is the only problem with Intel lately, everything is EoL the day you buy it.
Tbh, I'm surprised they've managed 2 generations on the same socket. Especially with the 13th being a solid upgrade over 12th.
On the whole I agree that AM5 is more sensible if you like an easy upgrade path; but it's got to be a good AM5. I want overkill VRMs, loads of usb (seen some boards with just 6 at the rear!), and a pcie5 m.2 slot ready for something to drop into it in 2025.
Could Get the 5800x3d if primarily gaming its come down to £349.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D Cache Eight Core 4.5GHz (Socket AM4) Processor - Retail
Order AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D Cache Eight Core 4.5GHz (Socket AM4) Processor - Retail now online and benefit from fast delivery.www.overclockers.co.uk
These are not Intel CPUs so power delivery is less important especially for the 7700X which is a 105w tdp CPU and pulls like 130w under full load which is around the same as my 5800X and that CPU runs fine on my 4+2 phase B450 tomahawk even when overclocked.Pretty much require an all-rounder but then again without reviews, how can you tell if it has a decent and solid power delivery?
We've all seen the bold claims made by certain manufactures and later turns out to be a stinker. Usually by now the media has covered this subject, price maybe.
Personally I’m eyeing up the B650e Riptide board from Asrock. Decent feature set and the price is far better than some of the alternatives which only have PCIE 4
Not sure on ASRock, agreed it has features but for the price... what did they cheap out on?
This is Asrock we're talking about. They don’t have to have cheaped out on anything.
Ship the boards at a lower profit margin compared to competitors and outsell.

Riptide is named after a specific kind of water current with strong waves that occurs in the ocean, representing the philosophy of sea’s double-side, calm and unlimited strength
As an extra bonus, the cache means it couldn't care less about expensive RAM - it's all much of a muchness. If I were buying today, for purely gaming, I'd get 5800x3D, with a cheap motherboard & cheap RAM. Sit back & enjoy top gaming performance for years.Great value and have seen it cheaper. AM4 will live strong for a couple of years yet with that CPU.

Nitro is 310mm long, gpu clearance is 330mm without rad in that case.Won't be going AMD as I bought a 13600KF late last night elsewhere, cheaper and below £285.
Should last me years and now gifting on my 12400F to family and selling the 12100F... I couldn't fault this chip at all.
Looking at a NH-D15 as I'm not sure if my Fractal Torrent Compact will accommodate a 360 AIO I plan to buy considering with how large the Sapphire 6800 XT Nitro+ is?
