Frying Pan Help

I'm looking for a very specific frying pan that needs to meet the following criteria:
  • Stainless steel
  • Minimum of 2.8L capacity, but 3L would be better
  • With a lid
  • Removable handle for cooking
  • Removable handles for serving
  • Oven proof
  • Induction, gas, and electric compatible
  • Dishwasher safe
So far, I've managed to find the following Cristel Deep Frying Pan, which ticks every box except the capacity (it's only 2L).

Cristel does a wok that would cover all the bases, but my wife is insistent that she doesn't want a wok because the base is so much smaller than the top of the pan. They also do a sauté pan but it's quite high-sided (8cm) and she said she doesn't want a saucepan…

Her mum has a "serving pan" that's the right size, with a lid, but it's non-stick and it doesn't have removable handles… So I'm a bit stuck.

Does anyone have any bright ideas?

Tefal Ingenio maybe? That range seems to tick most of the boxes.
Though I'm not sure it's 100% stainless steel.

You can buy the lid, handle separate....they do larger..

Surely that is large enough.

Does Tefal do any pans without the non-stick coating? I can't seem to find anything that is just bare metal.

Definitely big enough (maybe too big :o) but the fixed handles and lack of a single "frying pan" handle is potentially a dealbreaker. However, a Paella pan might be a good shout — I hadn't thought about that.

When it gets that large and potentially heavy, a single handle makes physics uncomfortable and potentially come back and bites you on the butt.

Yeah, that’s why I’m thinking a Paella pan might be too big. Although a single handle can work for a wok…

28 or 30cm diameter seems an ok size. In theory, 5cm depth at that diameter should provide the right capacity, but that Cristel one I found is tapered to the bottom rather than being flat-sided so it loses a lot of volume. But then the Sauté pans are too deep at that diameter and 24cm is too small for frying… :rolleyes:

She’s hard to please. God knows why she married me. :D

That looks like it could be a winner, thank you! I think the 22cm is a bit small, and the 26/28 isn't available on that Amazon listing, but that gives me something to hunt down.

Assuming I can find it at the right size, I will report back as to why that isn't suitable. :D

I can highly recommend the ProCook stainless steel ranges (either Elite Tri-Ply or the other ranges - they're all good). Solid pans, non-stick, easy to clean. Proper chef pans.

Thanks both, I’ll take a look.

I have a feeling the casserole one will be a no, simply because the handles are attached, but I’ll see what the boss thinks.

We got her mum to measure the pan that my wife likes, and it’s not a lot smaller than one of the Sauté pans from Cristel, so that might be the one we go for (even though she initially wrote it off as being too big).

I’ll keep you posted. :D
