*** Nintendo Switch ***

12 hidden pins... If you have never done one before then yea its tricky. If you want a port swap though I would be happy to do it for you. I buy ports in bulk and they cost 0.60p and it takes no more than 15 mins to swap one over. Often a broken port can take out either the power management IC (M92T36) or the video IC as the data lines are directly connected to the video chip while the power goes off to the main power IC. If it still works on battery though then yea it likely just a port swap.

Put simply unless you have a microscope, hot air station and have had plenty of practice then dont even touch it. Send it to somebody that has as fixing all the ripped pads is a pain... In fact I have these special little repair pads now just for that job so I don't have to run massive numbers of jumpers.

I’m sure it’s just the port as it’s you can see the bent pins and everything else works. Real pain and reluctant to send it over to Nintendo as they want up to £120!

Are there any negatives to buying games second hand or it doesn't really matter as switch games seem a tad expensive?

Just bought an Oled switch to keep me company while I am tipping in my truck. I can sometimes be on break for up to 3 hours at times and I am running out of things on Netflix and Prime.

What are the ten best games to get? Last Nintendo console I had was a Wii so happy to look at back catalogue if it is compatible.

Can anyone tell me how the Nintendo Online works with multiple consoles?

Basically we've already got a Switch and the family online subscription and my youngest now wants his own console so he doesn't have to argue with his older brother about who uses it!

Before I pull the trigger I'm just wanting to make sure that the single online subscription will extend to both consoles simultaneously?

I'm assuming it will and that any games bought on any of the accounts (mine and both kids) will be accessible and playable at the same time?

Thanks...

Have ordered Zelda and Mario.

Do you need to play any of the back catalogue with Zelda or is breath of the wild it's own game?

I have played Ocarina, Majora's, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess but that's where it ends.

I have only really played link to the past (which i completed with my lad 6 months ago on my raspberry pi 3) other than that i dont know much of the lore. I imagine i would understand a little more if i had played the other titles but it is absolutely not necessary. you wake up and jump right in and the game explains what you need to know.
With so many new players to the franchise it would be insane for them to rely on past knowledge. BOTW is a great game (tho the weapon degradation rate is annoying and too harsh imo, it makes you (or me at least) afraid to use your good stuff)

Looks like another half-assed effort from them. Performance is beyond laughable. I know the Switch is old now but with some of the good ports we’ve seen lately, it’s not good enough.
