Not much different to a coke float though is it? At least the milk has less ingredients in it than most ice cream.

Even when I was a kid in the 60s there was a local shop that did a fizzy drink with a blob of ice cream in.
I think I always had Lucozade and vanilla ice cream.

I've grown up drinking coke/pepsi and milk. My dad did as we were kids (think he got it from when he studied in america) so always thought it was normal till I invited friends round hahaa

There is a correct way to pour, and proportions are to taste:
- 1/3rd pint coke,
- let bubbles die down
- **** tonne of milk

= slightly fizzy caramel milkshake

Pretty much this, except for the Coke or lemonade shenanigans. Ice Cream Floats have been around since forever, and they are best when made with Cream Soda.
