7900 xtx help

anyone else had these issues?
found my old saved benchmarks from my 3080 Time spy 16315 port royal 11906. 7900 xtx time spy 10927 port royal 10577:)

Forget the benchmarks comparisons for now mate. The 110C junction temp on the VRAM is the cause of the performance loss and full speed fans. The 7900XTX is faster than a 3090 in both those benchmarks so it's obvious your card is throttling due to bad or missing thermal pads. Some production workers slack off sometimes and fail to do their job properly. You can use GPU-Z to monitor everything and you should see the clockspeed dropping when the memory junction temp hits 110C.
You need to RMA it and get another one.

I'd echo that based on my tuned 7900 XTX MBA Port Royal score of 18297.

"Much like Nvidia, AMD’s latest cards run a little hot. AMD says the Radeon RX 7900 XTX can run at up to 110 degrees Celsius junction temperature during a typical gaming session, and I measured temperatures hitting nearly 100 degrees during demanding games"

Post a gpu-z sensors screenshot after you have ran the benchmark. Would be a good indicator of whats going on.

Also read this thread for some undervolting info that could help :

Loads of noise now regarding this over heating issue. People saying to see if putting the case on its side so the card is vertical will fix the issue.... I might give this a go tomorrow as its boxed up ready for RMA. Thing is if the temps go down will that improve the speed of the card?

Just send it back.
My xfx 7900 xtx runs at 52 degrees under load, hotspot around 65.

With all these heat problems with reference XTX, imagine if they'd put a PCIE-5.0 12VHPWR power connector on these cards as well and then people put them in to to compact cases...
