4080 Adapter

Okay thanks both. I'll probably buy the wrong thing lol. Do you know if not using the nvidia adaptor will void warranty?
If you use a custom or modded cable they may not like it if you tell them that in the event of a warranty claim. But if you use a power cable provided to you from your PSU manufacturer (a normal thing to do) it will have likely met an industry standard and shouldn’t matter too much.

Nice one thank you. I've just looked and they don't sadly only for the RTX3000 series so guess I'll wait

I'm using corsair 12VHPWR Type-4 600W cable for nearly 3 months now with RTX 4090 and never had any issues with it. It can be used with any older 850+W Corsair PSU compatible with Type 4 cables.
It will not melt your connector because in compare to the adapter it will properly connect any you can't force it out so easily

Nice one thanks as I'm using a Corsair PSU too

Quick question with regards to theses cables I notice they have two little wires at the top of the plug (like what the 3090’s had) do you need to run specific power supplies for these to work or will a Normal say Corsair type 4 supply work I currently have I think a rm750x so would that run a 4080 for 4k gaming ? as I see the power draw is less than my 3080FE

what case have you got ?
It's an NZXT but I'm not sure of the model number, similar to a NZXT H510 but not that. I bought it 3 years ago and have seen no reason to change it, it's a lovely neat and minimal case with decent cooling once the front facia is clipped off. In the picture I have the glass panel off slightly but that's only because I fitted new fans in it yesterday and am still waiting for a 120mm to arrive, and cba putting the panel back on only to remove it again, to put it back on again, once the fan arrives. :D

Edit: Just noticed your question wasn't even aimed at me lol my bad.

They work fine with a Type 4 PSU. I've got a HX850i and the Corsair cables work fine, much better than the adapter.
