As title says, what would you take if they were the same price? The used 3080 has one year of warranty.

I would think the 6800 XT new would be the card to go for with what seems like better rasterisation (not interested in ray tracing) and more memory, but I make use of NVIDIA broadcast's noise removal almost daily, and I'm unsure how AMD's noise suppression fairs against it.

Yeah the 6800XT and if someone is looking £600 for a used 3080 tell them to do one. Offer them £500 at which point the 3080 is viable.

Definitely the 6800XT for the same price. Slightly faster in raster, more vram, less power consumption, more warranty, less driver overhead in DX12. Also I won't bother with RT both 6800XT & 3080 are too weak to run properly with RT anyway.

Just got the 6800xt Red Devil myself. Gaming at 1440p and it is performing well. Well over 60fps with rt set to medium using fsr2 on Hogwarts legacy. In regards to the 3080 having warranty it will most likely not transfer with the ownership so need to check that out.

I'd be certainly looking at the 6800XT - Cant use the raytracing argument really as neither will do it to a "ultra standard" (IMO of course) - That's before even introducing the fact the 6800XT is brand new with warranty.

New 6800 XT because it isn't used with a questionable history and has a proper warranty.

This without a second thought, i'm assuming you're asking because a used 3080 costs about the same as a new 6800XT, the 3080 is massively overpriced which is why they cost so much used.

With the way recent games have gone, having DLSS seems invaluable but it's not like the 6800XT is a bad card and should be more than enough up to 1440p.

Has to be the 6800xt, just for peace of mind and knowing you have a come back if it go's wrong and like others have said the 3080 is over priced. I sold a Merc version of the 6800xt for £475 a month ago, the 3080 is not worth over a hundred more, I guess it's one of the top 3080's if they want that much.

I hate how pro people are about the race to increase performance by reducing quality instead of making the GPU actually more powerful, what's more people use these things as justification to excuse ever higher prices.

We deserve all the #### that we get, we really do.....

Exactly the card I want and for the same game. 3070 at 1440p in Hogwarts Legacy is performing just under what I would like.

How does the card perform without RT?

And for the 3080 warranty, its an EVGA so I should be fine to warranty myself.

Judging from the replies though, seems clear the 6800 XT is the one to go for.

Is your Signature correct? If so, I wouldn't buy either of the GPUs mentioned. I wouldn't spend £600 either of them. The performance jump from the 3070 isn't worth paying for.

I would just wait and buy something later on.

Doesn't matter any more. EVGA Warranties stopped working like that years ago. I think it was around 2018. You need the original owner to help with warranty just like every other AIB.

The RX 6800 XT is better in almost every way. But you already have a 3070 and I'm not sure that the performance uplift is going to be enough. You might be better off waiting for the RX 7800 or RTX 4060 / 70.
