*** Big Fat Weight Loss Thread ***

Well there’s talk of the twenty minute rule where you start feeling full after twenty minutes or so of eating because your brain tells you that you’ve been eating too long.

Competitive eaters refer to it as the wall.

What do people think about Jason Fung? Watched a long video of him last night, and not sure if he is a quack or a genius...
A lot of what he says seems to make sense but...

Yes it was the hormone thing I was watching last night. He seems to have some weird theories around calories.

OOOOOOOOHH Goodies have arrived today.
This is a massive step change compared to PrepKitchen! Beautiful presentation in comparison.

That looks...better than I was expecting, can actually see ingredients and doesn't seem like a jumbled mess you see on a lot of the prep services.

What's the cost?

EDIT: Just checked - christ that's eye watering across 6 days but if you can afford it, I can see the appeal.

Fancy boxes don't pay for themselves :D

£560 a month for a touch under 2000kcals a day

I guess it's one of those things where if you live alone, want a variety of meals, hate cooking and can afford it then it's ok, but christ i'm not sure i could. We probably spend less than that for a family of 4 adults in a month and eat similar.

I think the issue is that postage every could have days adds up very quickly.

For me, i'm still hovering around the 98kg mark since the start of the year. A little disappointing but certainly through no fault of anyone but me! Friday night i was at a 21st and had 5 pints and stuffed myself with buffet and last night i had chinese takeaway (although i'm blaming my wife for that)

It's only the fact i did a 4hr bike ride yesterday that's counteracted it i think!

I'm kind of hoping that 3 months in Spain results in a decent drop. We're going to be in the middle of nowhere, so no corner shops to pop into for sweets/chocolate and we're pretty good when doing the main actual shop, along with no takeaways when laziness strikes. Combined with more outdoor activities/a more active lifestyle.

Understandable comments on price.
There are other mitigating factors that may influence your choices too.
Maybe you have a partner that doesn't share your journey or worse, actively tried to sabotage your results by sticking a curry under your nose and saying "shall we go to the pub tonight dear. Hopefully only subconsciously!!!

At the end of the day it a means to an end, not a life long commitment.
How many here have spaffed thousands on gear, watches, clothes to elicit the same end goal..
There is more, but my lunch break is over :o

No judgement from me, if I had the spare cash i'd happily use a real prep service - their prices are just way beyond what I could personally stomach.
Same here I've spent hundreds of pounds a month on a coach, he didn't even make me dinner! but it worked and I got what I needed from it. It's just a big ol' wedge compared to what I feed the family for per month.

Isn't it funny... I knew after the Superbowl (where I definitely overate) I would put a lb or two on, if nothing else just due to the volume of food in my stomach, but even after a week I was hovering around the same weight. Given I've been indoor training quite hard and outdoor 110+ miles every weekend this year, I was expecting slight drops from time to time... but no... until this morning when 3 lbs dropped off! I think some might be hydration. (Although I drank a lot of water yesterday) I might get a lb back tomorrow, we'll see, but it was nice to finally see the needle move again!

Turns out there’s a buffet breakfast and dinner at the hotel that we’re staying at. Noom has helped, but damn I love mini muffins and tiny desserts! Hoping a bit of skiing will help with the excess (or at least reduce the amount gained)!
