*** Nintendo Switch ***

So I've changed my mind and won't be getting the OLED Switch, and I'll stick to my Switch Lite, but I'm curious if it is likely that Nintendo will release an updated Switch model with better performance. I don't follow Nintendo news, so I'm unsure of any rumours. If there are, I would be disappointed if I bought one now and a new one came out shortly afterwards.
 
A Swith Pro was rumoured for a long time, however we got the OLED. Better bigger screen but same performance.

There will likely be a Switch 2 in a couple of years.
 
Finished Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle last night. Really enjoyed this one and playing the DLC now, then will keep playing to 100%. Who's played Sparks of Hope? Hows it compare?

It has been so long that it could end up being a huge upgrade. That said my Switch gathered way too much dust for me to ever buy one to keep long term again.

My plan is to buy one after a year or two, play all exclusives for a couple of months and then sell it on. Might be even longer than that. Probably be around the time another Zelda comes out. So maybe 5 years time.

They know nothing. Youtube is the ultimate herd mentality. One person makes a video and everyone else does that same. Someone somewhere suggests a Switch 2 is on the horizon and everyone jumps on it to sell some views.

Nintendo are all about the dorrah so they will release the Switch 2 when it makes sense and as far as I know the Switch is doing far too well for them to do that. Same reason they haven't given us MK9. Where the hell is my next mainline Mario game Nintendo?! Huh?

Dark Souls Remaster, Monster Hunter Rise and 51 Club Classics
 
Ordered one too. Had the restock email come through (just as Virgin Media decides to give up today in my area).

Have recently picked up the clear blue Retrofighters Brawler 64 NSO edition so will be interesting to compare.
 
What's all the fuss over these controllers? Are they simply just to play the emulated games with or do they work well with modern games?

I think some of it, is because they are so difficult to pick up and are often unavailable, or being scalped.

But the N64 is such a difficult controller to emulate properly on other controllers because of that analog stick and button layout. And so many of the games really use that analog stick which can make the games feel so different on anything else. The GameCube controller and Wavebird is similar in a way (particularly for the Smash Bros. crowd).

The recent Goldeneye release on NSO is horrible on a Switch Pro Controller or Joycons. At least a N64 (or similar like a Tribute64 or Brawler64) makes it playable. Other stuff on NSO; Megadrive, SNES etc. it is far easier to find other suitable, good controllers.

The Switch has an N64 controller mode which means they map 1-to-1 with the N64 games on NSO (emulation). I can't remember if you can use them with Switch games although on the Brawler64 NSO you can switch between N64 and Pro Controller mode that makes it very useful. Although the lack of a second analog stick means it's not really a viable Pro controller.
