Whats the best Block for temps?
i have a corsair xc7, and it dose a good job, but my CPU's just wants to boost and boost, so if there is a better block out there id like it.

in games i see 4.8Ghz average @ 70/75c
I know my CPU can do 5Ghz but it gets hot.

Also what's liquid metal like on the IHS? i have a tube here that i used on a GPU but loads left

I would Just clean the block and try the liquid metal but check for corrosive comparability , liquid metal and aluminium is corrosive.

yes, its second hand anyways.
im rebuilding soon to add an extra Rad to the loop as i want it to run silent so if im brave ill give it a go then. ill buy some foam tape too to go round the socket

Nail polish apparently works well .

Not as a thermal paste I mean :cry:

Think I've got a spare EK something block you can have. Just pay the postage, if you'd like to give it a go?

Edit: It's a Supremacy EVO with a the wrong mounting kit so no good to you.

I may have a Quantum Velocity soonish as I'm looking to change block. That has the AM4 and AM5 mounting kits. Same would apply, postage only (I have way too much watercooling stuff).

Edit2: New block ordered, so ping me a message if you want the Velocity.

The problem with the corsair i think... is the cooling fins are all very central on the CPU and 5XXX chips have a hot spot more out to the side.
i think the temps are fine and the CPU is boosting good but id like to just try a different block for peace of mind, or ill always be thinking is it the block.

The Velocity block used to cool that very CPU quite nicely. But my case is a 11D XL, I know you are running a much smaller case than that. Having said that, enough air flow through the rad(s) and you should be good.
 
My loop dose a good job the GPU games at 50c ish but the CPU just slowly works it was up from 65c to 75c average but i have seen 81c on a long game's evening, thats was the CPU set to ECO and CO -12. so i just feel the blocks not right or i need a little more rad but i have a EK 240 and XSPC 280.

its ever the block or rad space so if i just do both i cant get it wrong.

it could be down to the 300w GPU, but extra rad space would also fix that

You should add a temp sensor to the loop to monitor the actual water temp then you will be able to see if your loop is working correctly or not by comparing your load temps to your loop temp.
